Still loving the DeWalt Reciprocating saw! Thanks again, it is a work horse! I just did some cutting on my gate with it. The gate has wood slats with metal frame (typical what you see with new build houses, just had the house built and moved in back in November). I cut the latch off, and cut out for a handle and deadbold box. Welded that in and repainted. Now there is a door handle and deadbolt in the gate instead of a dinky latch that was held on by two tack welds.

When I told my wife "sooo... ummm... I won a tool drawing on UA-cam from a channel I watch" her first response was "yeah, okay" then I showed her, and she got excited. I never win anything, lol. That and she loves a reciprocating saws. Anytime I did remodeling at our old house or did some demo work, she always jumps at it and says "okay, what do you want cut up?" Plus I have the line of Dewalt XR tools already, so this complemented my tools very nicely. My old Sawzaw had seen much better days, lol.

Years ago I was working alongside my very younger brother. We were scraping glue off of a floor with hand scrapers, something I've done millions of feet of. We're going down a corridor side-by-side doing an equally sized area and he kept falling behind, even though he was going through the exact same motions as I was. After switching blades and switching scrapers I finally realized what the problem was. He did not know that what we were doing was supposed to hurt. They call it work because it's hard. If you wait for the tools to do the job the job will never get done. This kid is just like my little brother, he's holding the tool they're expecting the tool will do the cutting rather than the force of his arms. The good news is once I explain this to my little brother he was able to keep up. Also decided flooring instalation was way too hard.

Regarding the Milwaukee vs. DeWalt competition: Forget the flashy but time-wasting cordless cutting tools... just get a time-tested Willard rebar cutter. Maybe 5 seconds per cut, and you can do your corner bends with it too. And, no batteries to deal with. I'm a smalltime Gen Contractor in Santa Barbara. I picked up a used one 25 years ago and I can't tell you how many times its paid for itself, even on little jobs.
