Smaller fighter with limited skills is at a serious disadvantage. However, Perry is legitimately crazy and that can not be underestimated. Jake is going to have to deal with that more than he ever has. this alone is Perry's magic and the reason this fight is interesting.
I do agree with you but it seems like boxing gloves are more concussive than bare knuckle so I think Perry’s willingness to get hit could get him slept.

@@billneave5537The gloves protect the fist. Boxers hit harder with more accuracy more often. Even a UA-camr come boxer will most likely sleep Perry. Crazy doesn’t win you anything, in or out of the ring.
The fact that Jake was getting ready for heavyweight makes me nervous for Mike, he gets punched alot I wouldn't be surprised if Jake puts him out

The arrogance of MMA fans should be studied. They spent the last 20 years claiming boxing is dying only for Boxing to be looking as healthy as ever in 2024 and if anything it’s MMA which is dying. All the big stars in the UFC are either retired or on the verge of retirement and there’s no superstars coming through. It’s laughable but understandable as MMA fans are by far the most braindead in all of sports.

It seems like this mandatory belt thing is a legal aspect of the Ali act? Isnt it a legal obligation to take the belt from Usyk if he doesn’t fight his mandatory?
Ali act is ONLY in America. Also, its not the ali act, its more that sanctioning bodies should be strict in enforcing mandatories or there's no point paying sanctioning fees. That's why the WBC is hated
Eddie just be signing fighters just so he can say he has a big roster and other promoters don’t sign the fighters. Unless they big names or ticket sellers they sit on the sidelines.
There’s prospects in the UK should be fighting 4/5/6 times a year and they fighting 1/2 times year for absolutely nothing. Just card fillers. This is guy is cold. As cold as any of the older promoters he just a fresher face.
Boxing press conferences, especially pre-fight, have been surprisingly lame for years.
Eddie’s ARE better, because HE is charismatic and has great social sense..
..but..if they all did it like the UFC, that seems WAY better..who knows what the best protocols might be, but the UFC press conferences don’t leave me wondering why I’m listening to some of these people and formalities.
It seems respectfully done..some traditional, honorary gestures..but if you want us to be way more likely to watch and WANT to watch the whole thing - cut that fluff!

It’s OK when Wilder didn’t fight Dillian Whyte for years (when he was mandatory for years) over fighting no-bodies of his choice. But now when it’s a massive undisputed fight they decide to kick-in and make Uysk fight his mandatory though. Same with Fury he could away with not fighting his mandatories for people of his chosen.

Beat him easily? Usyk was knocked out in that fight from a body shot and needed the ref to save him with a blatant wrong call.
He's right, Jake already dog walked Mike in sparring, and that was 3 years ago before Jake really even knew what he was doing, this fight is a foregone conclusion.

Agreed, mma doesn’t translate to boxing skills full stop. Coming from an mma fan. Mike has a few years of straight boxing under his belt. Jake has 6 years experience now, numerous pro fights, he’s bigger, faster, stronger and he’s younger. Perry’s not beating him.
I remember people like Schaub and other mma pundits thinking Ben Askren was going to beat Jake Paul because of all the mma and wrestling experience and ‘competing at the highest level in combat sports’ gives him the edge. Load of waffle. The only thing that matters is boxing experience, and Jake has more. Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley never had any chance. Doesn’t matter if you’ve had a million mma fights at the top level, it doesn’t mean anything in boxing.

That aggressive brawling style works in bare knuckle because the ring is significantly smaller and you obviously can’t rely on your guard to absorb shots when you got no gloves on, punches slip through. Mike Perry gonna get picked apart and smoked if he tries to swing crazy. Boxing an entirely different thing even from bare knuckle. That style does not translate well into a boxing ring.
