So to put it short, a few people at the top quite literally just got upset that they didn't get their way and dropped a fairly good vehicle concept, not even concept, it has shown to be useful. I feel like they just complained about its "issues" just to have something to complain about, because it met all requirements, and it could take care of all threats listed pretty well. maybe not great, but like you said its a jack of all trades. good at many, but not great in any single category. Real shame because that tank honestly, especially now with the current warfare climate, can be very useful. Its small, packs a punch and can deal it out fairly rapidly. It being able to be deployed quickly is also a very nice thing to add and makes logistics easy if anything. We could have spent time perfecting this then coughing up more random designs like we are in 2022-2024. Especially with the advent of drones, an airburst round for the 75 would of been perfect for this role, swat out drones like a mini flak gun.
Well its a vehicle that followed on from what was learnt from the HSTV-L and featured a similar weapon. So i'd say the comments pointing that out are correct
Ooh ooh! Do CTA International's CTAS40 40mm cased telescopes fully automatic autocannon for the Warrior and Ajax IFVs. It's got an Automatic ammunition Handling System (AHS) allowing it to fire: APFSDS-T GPR-T (General Purpose, smart point or air burst detonation) A3B-T (anti air prox)
This concept is very important for light reaction forces , the gun is ideal for urbane tactical . Just look how successful the Toyota pick up has been in the roll of urban fire suppression and tactical support.
This, along with the VFM Mk V, is one of my favorite premium vehicles in Armored Warfare back in the day, wished they weren't premium as wells in WT as well.
I wonder what how many roles a modular combat vehicle built around an Ares gun firing modern rounds like an M830-equivalent could fulfil these days. Give it the ability to take and swap out mission packages like capacity for dismounts, a command vehicle for wingman UCGVs or UCAVs, a SPAAG for dealing with the increasingly likely reality of having to operate without friendly air dominance in some theatres or a light artillery piece that could put 10 rounds into the air in as many seconds while having the ability to have them hit simultaneously _and_ redeploy as soon as it's done firing etc. like an updated M113 but truly modular.
The point about a jack-of-all-trade is that no tanks on this world can be a jack-of-all-trade, a tank becomes a menacing machine not only by itself and the crew, but playing what a tank does and nothing else on a larger scaled battlefield: an abrams will be nothing than a burning wreck if there are no phantoms(duh, gaijin)to protect it from Mi-28s, the same goes the other way
a modern 30 ton compact tank seems to be a good idea to fill a gap. a C17 has an 85 ton capacity. being able to quickly deliver a dozen heavily armored compact tanks anywhere in the world is a powerful tool. I wonder if you could create a compact tank with armor comparable to the Abrams and keep it around 30 tons?

Adjacently related, the new Franco-German tank venture is set to use a 140mm CTA gun.
You weren’t lying about this when you said in your last video you were gonna talk about the HSTV-L
I see half the commentators didnt make it past the 1st minute of the video
Well its a vehicle that followed on from what was learnt from the HSTV-L and featured a similar weapon.
So i'd say the comments pointing that out are correct
very interesting and enjoyable video !
Ooh ooh!
Do CTA International's CTAS40
40mm cased telescopes fully automatic autocannon for the Warrior and Ajax IFVs.
It's got an Automatic ammunition Handling System (AHS) allowing it to fire:
APFSDS-T
GPR-T (General Purpose, smart point or air burst detonation)
A3B-T (anti air prox)
This concept is very important for light reaction forces , the gun is ideal for urbane tactical . Just look how successful the Toyota pick up has been in the roll of urban fire suppression and tactical support.
Omg another video talking about the hstvl no way!!! Didn't see that coming (lying)
Daily spookston hstvl video
Wow this RDF and gun looks cool. I hope it it’s added to war thunder it’s accurate and not just a worse HSTVL
New day
New HSTVL video
thank you, very informative.
Day 2 of asking for a video on up coming ground top tier possibilities, also good video
This vehicle shows up in the *Twilight: 2000* RPG as the LAV-75.
This, along with the VFM Mk V, is one of my favorite premium vehicles in Armored Warfare back in the day, wished they weren't premium as wells in WT as well.
i was there for that event at the beginning, we were set up next to the M10
Try not to talk about HSTV-L challenge (real) (gone wrong)
Another Hstvl video. Not even suprised
Another great video!
Jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one
I hate how great projects sometimes flop just because people ask unreasonable things out of them
1:48 I WANT THAT IN WT as event vechicle!
So the army came to the conclusion that: No Armour = Best Armour.
aight spookston first of great video, love cannons that fire potent munitions and fast.
i have just a suggestion for you, revive the tanks that should be added series.
i have a fine boi as a small addition: the 2cv GHAN1
20mm mg151 cannon for spaa and killing open tops or lightly armored vehicles
75mm recoilles rifle for just the hesh lobbing goodness
AGS is the "Paldin Light Tank" in Mercenaries 2 for the UP faction
Good damn, just marry the HSTVL already :P
good vid man, thanks
A damned miracle of engineering
This will fix the marine corps tank problem
