Wow! What an easy to watch and listen to review! In fact.. i have not once seen a review without 700 cuts and patches and all over the place. Good job getting the message across in a non boring way and without any music! Thank you!

Awesome video, Lucky Loon! Surprised to see no other comments yet. The info you've shared is really helpful. It's a bummer about the stainless steel issue, but with a 40% off deal on Black Friday, I think I'll take the plunge and go for it!❤‍🔥

I say this BEFORE watching, because I think the title is the best advert I've ever seen.
If he's still got it after a year and has used it 'heavily' it certainly isn't like that indoor exercise bicycle that sat in the garage for a decade before it finally got trashed. £240 getting used heavily for a year sounds like it is certainly "useful" - wouldn't you say? at £240 I wonder how much equivalent electricity I paid for to cook my meals at home.
... Of course, if I had any confidence in my own opinion - wouldn't I have already bought one BEFORE I watch the video. Hey, maybe I should put my money where my mouth is.
(I guess I can always cancel the order once I've watched the vid.)
Naw, I think it is cool, but I'm travelling with limited space and I'm still not sure if I can justify something this size. Mind you - I suppose I might use it at home too in the Summer.
    Hmmm

Hi, so I am not advertising this product or being paid in any way by the company.
I am only trying to be as honest as possible. I keep this thing outside all year. I live in MN, so it goes through winter as well. I have car camped with it approx 12 times. I have campsites on my farm and have used it at those sites at least 8 times, i have also traveled to Wisconsin and Northern MN and brought this thing along on approx 8 other trips. I have even used it ice fishing here in MN. This is all in addition to regular use on my backyard patio. When I say heavy use, I mean more use in 1 year than most people will do in 5. So far I have learned the metal is too thin and bends much easier than expected. It's not stainless, so it has started developing surface rust. The thing is pretty portable, its pretty light, and the way it supplies air to the fire functions rather well. Overall, its an 80% solution for the niche they are carving. To fix my gripes, it needs to be made of stainless and be of a little thicker construction.

Seems like a really great product, however it was really disappointing to discover that unlike the BioLite camp stove, the fire pit plus doesn't actually charge its battery bank with the heat it produces.
If they ever make a model that does utilize temperature differential to generate electricity, I'll definitely buy it.

that was also something that I was thinking about. The current design battery lasts 18+ hours so thats a good thing. When speaking with them, the camp stove has a piece that sticks into the fire to do the thing. The concern is on the firepit, there is a REALLY good chance it would be damaged from use, which is why it doesn't have that feature.
The bigger issue for me is the construction and materials. I think I would just go the solo stove route. If biolite used stainless steel, or at least thicker metal, it would be back in the conversation for me.

Thank you for watching. the length will accommodate standard sized logs like the ones you buy at campgrounds. but they will burn a lot better if you split them once or twice.
