IT IS TIME! IT IS TIME THAT WE REVOLUTION! WE MUST STOP BELIEVING THAT ONE DAY OUR POLITICIANS WILL STOP LOOTING OUR ECONOMY AND START PRODUCTION ECONOMY THAT WILL CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH.
I was born in Nairobi Kenya in 1967 when Jomo Kenyatta was still president. We then lived in a amazing Kenya and as I child those were my best memories. After the death of Kenyatta the new president Daniel Moi changed that country into a nightmare. Although I was born in Kenya and lived most of my life there I was forced to leave that amazing country due to high crime and major corruption in both high and low levels in government. I now live in Canada and have been here for the past 22 years. I know all about the corruption in Kenya and I blame the rich Indians for starting this bullshit. These people bribed government for everything, mostly to further their businesses and the expectations was then easy money and everyone became a victim bith rich and poor.
Domnic Fernandes You cannot and should not blame an entire community. It is the blacks who got the political power and now the black elites have the economic power as well. It is all due to poor governance which have allowed the culture of corruption and impunity.
@Dominic Fernandes Corruption in Kenya began Jomo Kenyatta. After independence he stole the land and divided it amongst his cronies, such that he left his own tribesmen landless, and moved them to the Rift Valley. Today they are foreigners in Kalenjin territory. After Kenyatta came Moi who vowed to follow in Mzee's footsteps, and you saw how that went. Moi was Kenyatta's apprentice. Kibaki served in both Kenyatta's and Moi's govt. Today, Kenyatta's son is president...look at the State of the nation.
Am a KENYAN and for the first time i agree with this documentary. I have lived in the slums for the last 14yrs and i can tell you the level of hopelessness among the youth is high and it leads to all sorts of crime.i have witnessed youth being killed by mob through stonning to death.others burnt beyond recognition . The youth have also turned violent and use of witchcraft is very rampant among the slum dwellers. I sometimes feel helpless since the gvt even still youth funds that is meant to boost youth lives. But the main problem happen to be TRIBALISM TRIBALISM TRIBALISM. its a sad scenario but it takes a sobber mind to think critically
Things were so much better when Kenya was ruled by the British; people like my father who set high standards for honesty, fairness, justice for all and incorruptibility. My heart bleeds for these young people with no future. They would have been better off in a traditional tribal society where everyone had a place. Of course life was hard by today's standards but people were not homeless and hopeless. There is no going back to that system; the world has moved on - I never thought I'd hear myself say this but perhas the only answer for the young us to replace this so-called democracy with some form of communism with enforced land redistribution and population control
Who said that we can't revert back to traditional ways it's better to go back to stone age with fairness and equality that what we have now it's on everyone mind if the government's don't know what they are doing what else remains these Carnage has to end
I feel us Kenyans, both the Rich and the poor are equally suffering, the Rich mistrust the poor, the poor Rob and kill the Rich,so we're all in it , suffering the consequences of poor government, a government led by thieves , murderers, saddists, selfish humans. But I am hopeful that one time it's going to be okay, I am hopeful because every opportunity that I have,i mind my fellow Kenyans,i mind the poor I mind our unemployed youths,so I am doing something, atleast what I can.If we take it in our hands to do something about our poor situation we shall make it better for our children, lets keep walking and try to be optimistic and do something....
Crawley Obara the problem inforced or applied western government structures just doesn’t work for us, we do work better together in tribes than with only a few corrupt people who serve the westerners and sell their people’s rights away and give our resources away to developed countries than to keep it and self-develop and industrialize,....
We only have watch them(political leaders) do it.I don't think our Kenyan politicians do mind us,be it youths, women or old people. They are only ready to spend our revenue on their fancy lifestyles.
Where is Dr. Mumbi to comment on this documentary. Dr. you're too concerned with Caucasoid coming for Africa resources. What about the human ticking bomb? Don't you think this will accelerate the arrival of them? Say something to help of your own.
He does have a point Ernest Mwithiga. All you are told in the 8-4-4 system is you get good grades you get a good job. How many of the youth right now would show you their A grades, believe me its millions with a handful of jobs to compete between them.
They are not grown up, but act as if they are juvenile delinquence growing up with out parents. They see what others have and want that to, which is a human emotion and totally normal. What follows is normal to, however those politicians responsible for that are no where to be found.
I don't understand why George the one with the electrical engineering degree doesn't apply to go to grad school abroad or try and find a job abroad? An electrical engineering degree is very very valuable outside of Kenya. African countries are going to have to pay for the brain drain they caused, and it's not going to be pleasant for anybody. Africa has the human and natural resources and a lot of really bright Africans living abroad would not mind coming home if they knew it was safe. Everyone wants Africa to succeed except for the people in charge. If we could just usher in a new era of transparent, disciplined, and visionary leaders, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Botswana, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Ghana and other promising economies in Africa would be a force to be reckoned with.

Transportation I guess they have improved but, it makes no sense not to provide the youth with viable options for a decent quality of life.. that is not the only side of Kenya, unemployment is everywhere in the world, and so is crime. So to the Nigerian doing this news has his own agenda. People should stop acting like they are saints. Rubbish.
To all the people posting you first have to understand that in a country like Africa the government officials in power are paid by more powerful nations or nations with more money to allow these type of things to happen within the different African countries so that the other nations can get the resources they need at low cost so on that type of level it would be really hard to change things but it is possible,no matter who gets into power in your African countries someone from another country would come to bribe you and if you don't take the bribe as a government you will be kill
