I've said again and again, this should have been Luigi's Mansion 1+2 HD. They have a remake of the first game on 3DS and they could have included it with this game in order to justify the higher price. Even with inflation this is still more money than what I paid for Dark Moon in 2013
No it won't just put 1+2 hd on the e shop or make the first game have a case and the 2nd game has a case tooo and the 3rd game and the 1+2 jd pack on case and if they can't put 1+2 hd pack on the e shop

I completely agree that nintendo is out of their mind with charging 60 for a remaster. I love that you include the price of the game as a factor of the score, not enough people I watch do that.
Im from the UK and pricing is in the top end budget titles. It’s £40 rrp and you can buy it for £32ish easy. Normal rep is £60-70.

I was excited about the release of it. I preordered and got it on release date paid the $60 because i wanted it. Im enjoying playing it too.

With inflation $40 in 2013 (Luigi’s mansion 2 original release date) is equal to $53.93 so that food for thought and shows just how little prices of games have really increased when your looking at games u may have purchased for $60 10 years ago would now be equal to $80 with inflation so we have actually been lucky with new realeases still being $60. I do agree $60 is too expensive for this particular game port.

I only really wanted a remake of the first one as the sequels I felt got less spooky and more cute and by the third I was a glorified janitor vacuuming everything for the fact that money was just everywhere rather than for ghosts. They should’ve just did a Pikmin 1+2 if they weren’t gonna change anything. Also for the scoring I see other UA-camrs have a price value component so it’s not so heavily weighted towards the asking price.
I went ahead and picked up Metroid Prime (since I'm a huge fan of the series) but some of these new remasters I'm not grabbing for full price and no new content.
I played the first on GameCube and I own the 3rd game on Switch. Never having a 3DS, I now get to play Dark Moon and in "HD". I paid the money, I think it's fine. If money is the biggest issue there are multiple options for people - 1 - don't buy it, 2 - wait for a sale, 3 - ask for it as a gift, or number 4 - save up for it.

Nintendo knows their fan base and they know a remake, remaster, re-release of one of their first party games will still sell tons. Plus the Switchs’ life cycle is coming to an end so this is a cheap and easy way to make tons of money before the holidays.

I do agree one this game too, I didn't get it because I never played the first and it was weird not having the first to try out. Also thought 60 was to much of price to play at the price should be lower if ti older game. Nintendo is greedy they need to stop keeping game that hgih, I woudl own mroe games but the prices stop me. I just came back from gamestop picked thew new Trails game Daybreak and found soem agmes i wanted to own Pokemon MysteryDungeon, Yoshi Crafted world and TMNT Shredder's Revenge, got the free game so that was nice, but yeah don't think I woudl buy the game unless it was cheaper.

The $60 price tag is still cheaper than an original retro game that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars to buy that is still in its original non upgraded graphical form released years ago.

We shouldn't be buying games at prices that don't reflect the quality of the game or work done. Unfortunately though, it's as you said... too many people will buy this and Nintendo will continue to push out similar in the future as a result.

That $60 argument seems to be an American issue because over here in the UK, I got it for £40 which is about $50 and there are numerous stores with varying prices, some probably like £35.
They absolutely should’ve remastered the first game too but the second game also deserves it nonetheless
It’s a basic remaster, if you’ve never played it on 3DS like me then it is worth it. Could there have been more done to it? Probably. This is still the best way to play the game and not let it rot on the 3DS.
I think you’re bitching a little too hard about it. Especially getting really petty about the name…it’s always been ‘Luigi’s Mansion 2’ over here and in Japan. I think telling people not to buy it is a big stretch. If you haven’t played the game then it’s the best way to play it no doubt

The only real problem this game has is its price point which as I mentioned, is more of an American issue anyway. So you're basically accepting that Nintendo can take any previous game from their previous consoles, apply a super basic hd update and then charge it out at $60? And we should be accepting and understanding of it? A price normally reserved for their newly made games? That is ridiculous. And no. This is not just an amercian pricing thing. Look further than your own country. Its priced as a full price title almost across the board.

It's a great game
When something has a smaller audience and is likely to sell fewer copies, then you need to be more mindful where and how you spend money on it and that cost is then divided across fewer people.
This principle isn't limited to things like limited run releases. It's not even limited to games.
Would they have sold more copies if they put more into it? Likely.
Would they have sold more copies if they sold it cheaper? Likely.
Would that have been a greater return on their investment? Clearly, not by their estimation.
When I look at something like this release, I can't help but think... the alternative was them not releasing it and literally nobody was harmed by them putting it out.
Would I have preferred 1+2 together, 2 at a cheaper price, or for 2 to be even more refined and enhanced? Sure.
Do I plan on running out and buying it at $60? No... but there are back catalog titles where I'd pay more for less. So, I hope whatever niche audience bares the cost of putting out this rerelease loves it and I hope Nintendo does more like it in the future.
