    The more I learn about octopus the more I think they got extra attribute points when creating their character. Their abilities are truly stacked.

      They didn’t speck a single point into defense and barely anything into lifespan, thus they have near 0 defense and live for about 5 years max.

    What's fun about them is that they will not only change their shape and color to mimic their surroundings, they will also mimic other creatures, changing their shape and the way they hold themselves to mimic those creatures.

    I'm convinced that if octopuses lived for a long time that they would have underwater civilizations.
    The humans of the ocean.
    Unfortunately, as smart and amazing as they are, they only live for 1-5 years, depending on the species.

      @N3MES1SX12 I would catch them all the time! I eat a lot of sea food and fish.. It's so good when it's fresh. I got a hugh clam one time.best thing and you won't believe me but I caught lobster always but I hate it. One was about a foot wide and three feet long. It feed tge whole boat and then some. It was the granddaddy of lobsters!

      Ja und mit den Schnecken verwandt. Eins beherrschten ihre Vorfahren die Meere als Top Predatoren. Damals hatten sie ein spitzes Kalk Gehäuse. Sie sind ja auch mit Muscheln und Schecken verwandt. Ähnlich intelligent wie Primaten. Wenn sie nicht nach der Fortpflanzung sterben würden könnte sie niemand aufhalten weil sie dann immer mehr lernen würden.

    I’m constantly amazed by the octopus in general. They are incredibly clever and intelligent, masters of disguise and problem-solving. Not to fail mention, selfless parenting (at least to my knowledge, the mothers will go without eating for months to tend to their eggs, dying in the process of bringing new life). Amazing animals; their evolutionary path, epic.

    I really enjoyed the Mimic Octopus’s ability to change his color, texture & appearance, much like that of a chameleon!

      It's mostly terrifying I think. I went to the Outer Banks this year. Scariest experience of my life. It's a place where houses are frequently swept away by the ocean because when it's bad weather there, surprise! You're in the middle of the open ocean. And you didn't even plan to be on a boat today. When that shit happens in the middle of the night? I don't think I can imagine a more frightening scenario than I experienced in this situation.

    Octopuses are so overpowered bro like imagine being a fish or crustacean tryna compete with a predator that can practically go invisible in any environment.
    I heard they also will mimic other animals to scare of predators, like mimicking sea snakes which are incredibly venomous

      Actually most of them do. It's like us and whales that don't basically immediately die after giving birth. It's been theorized that this is because grandmothers at least, are an asset to women as they raise their children.

    The octopus posesses a unique and high level of a kind of intelligence which is so different than ours. Because it is so different, many people fail to recognize that this creature is merely not a dumb animal and will underestimate it.
    I saw a great video of an octopus in an aquarium sneaking out of his tank to eat a crab in another tank, right under the noses of the aquarium staff. I love these animals! ❤🐙♥️

      I saw that one too. The octopus then snuck back into his original tank and the staff had a hard time figuring out what was happening. Octopus can be very intelligent, curious and also friendly.

    My granddaughter and I saved a baby octopus 🐙 that was on kelp on the Pacific Coast. He was the cutest lil man.. still have the video of him in her snorkel mask. A group of adults just watched him lay in the sand. Spread love!!

    Just love the occies. In many years of scuba diving just adored every encouter. They are all so smart. So with it. I had some wonderful times with these delightful animals. Never disturbing them of course but if you are respectful they'll get curious and come to you. Incredible.

    Octopi are so physically unique that they have never been linked to any particular lineage. Even though they are very similar to cuttlefish they are biologically unique.

    I love octupi so much, they are such an amazing creature that are far more intelligent than most people even know. They can solve pretty advanced puzzles to free themselves from cages.
