I had heard that in many counties or districts in Texas that you don’t even have to prove anything but inequity which technically should be difficult but isn’t if you can find a property similar to yours but lower assessed. Also how can you guys now have regular zoning?
What if the appraised value from the appraisal district is significantly less than the value of the house? (For example, a recently acquired house for x dollars, but the appraised amount is lower). Will protesting work at all?
If it's much lower than you expected and you're happy with it, it may not be worth protesting. But if you think you can find evidence to support a lower price than maybe it's worth a shot? Otherwise, just closely monitor in upcoming years and be ready to protest.
