@@utop1a775 I think it was partially because nolans other films leave you in such awe and have crazy ideas to think about (which I realized this sort of does too) but I just wasn't as interested in the plot as when watching movies like se7en. Also part might've been because I saw the lower imdb score. For a rewatch, I tried to ignore that and realized how carefully made it was and appreciated it more. Also the lack of over acting might've been part of it because only recently I grew an appreciation for a held-back performance that pacino is so brilliant at. Now I love the movie
My favorite shot is right after the chase scene between Pacino and Williams. Pacino just got out of the water and he looks across the logs at Williams who’s looking back at him. It’s a stunning visual. Other directors would’ve had a closeup of Williams. But Nolan wisely shows him far enough away where we can’t see really what he’s thinking.
This is exactly what I’ve been thinking. Now, don’t get me wrong, Hoyte is an extraordinary cinematography, and I really love his work with Nolan. Though, I have always prefered the more “gritty” aesthetic that Pfister offered to Nolan’s films
@@RShadow12 hoyte's still feels a lot more clean and fresh. If that makes sense. Dunkirk, however, is probably my favorite looking Nolan film and that was the second movie without Pfister
@@nms7872 I’ve always loved how Hoyte’s cinematography was, as you stated, very “clean.” I think that totally works for a film like Interstellar, and I think that style of cinematography mixed with the color palette in Dunkirk made for, as you also stated, a gorgeous looking movie. Both cinematographers are great, but in the end, I personally slightly prefer Pfister’s more “gritty” aesthetic.
I loved this movie. I loved that it was very psychological. And yeah, beautiful cinematography. I don't feel like it's underrated. It's just that the other movies are on different levels.
I like the take. I'd personally say inception but that's me. One reason I love nolan is that every one of his movies has something different that someone can appreciate, especially true in cinematography styles
Realistic, re watchable, and made with real quality - this is a great film! I would recommend watching the film 'Heat' made in 1995. This is one of, if not, the best films that I have ever seen. Enjoy! :)
So far, this is the only film Christopher Nolan directed that he doesn't have any screenwriting credit, although he did wrote the final draft of the script!

Definitely Nolan’s most underrated film. I absolutely love Insomnia!
It took a while for me to like it even though nolan is my favorite director and I love Pacino and Williams, but recently it's really grown on me
@@samuelzins5089 Why didn’t u like it at first

Underrated film in every sense, great video.
Insomnia is one of my favorite Nolan films.
I remember people applauding when it was over.

🤞👌
I see, you're watching a Chris Nolan marathon .
Exactly!
Absolutely love the shots of the green roads
Love this movie.
Wally Pfister and Nolan was a great duo. Theres a gritty feel to the visual style here that became obsolete when Nolan moved to Hoyte Van Hoyetma

The best shot Nolan film after The Prestige and Dunkirk.

This is a total remake. He was just a hired director for this. Just like Kubrick making Spartacus.
How tf u find these clips with such a good quality
In 2002 maybe was great movie. Watched in 2023, for today's time it is very simple movie
No. It's still a great movie
É dia 29 de agosto de 2022 e esse foi o dia que eu finalizei a lista de filmes desse diretor fantástico ❤️
