One of most favourite film! And I love the way you put the shots mate! Everything about it is perfect, Villeneuve, leads us perfectly though a multi-level narrative that focus on anger, vengeance, retribution, and hopelessness. The aesthetic of film is executed with much precision and beauty, the rainy cold world of the film is so believable that it’s hard not to feel claustrophobic while watching it, Deakins has successfully captured the freezing loneliness and anger of the characters. The shots are held, allowing us to gets its bearing and study the lined faces of the film's characters.
As much as I love the cinematography for Dune, Blade Runner and Arrival, it is Prisoners to this day I consider Denis most beautiful film. And the fact that it's his most moundain setting makes it even more special
Such an underrated film, everything in it is perfect, performances, locations, photography, incidental music, the level of verisimilitude of the characters make you at times completely forget that it is a film and you feel immersed in the middle of a case of police investigation with all its intersecting human edges, you feel in the role of the police officer or, on the contrary, in that of the victims' family. Totally recommended.
Good Directors.. ...and by extension Good Artists/Performers and Good Scripts have the Power and the Beauty to do (just) that. 🎨 Lemme know if You'd like a couple similar Recommendations (with respect to Your Astute observation)
Honestly, amazing shots of prisoners would just be the entire movie. Somehow this movie managed to be bleak and depressing and absolutely gorgeous at the same time. Roger Deakins is a genius, let’s be honest here.
This UA-cam channel has one of the most incredible videos🧡....I m just speechless.... I m here in Delhi, in my cozy room looking through my glass window to the city skyline n understanding life.......the feeling is out of the world....wow🥵🥵
Yesterday I saw this movie, and so far I'm thinking about something, what happened to dover? the meaning of the maze This movie uses our intelligence to know who the main suspect is, it's a masterpiece

The thing with Mr. Deakin's cinematography is that it looks so simple and effortless but it is near-impossible to imitate.
Wow wow! Put the words right in my mouth. His work is truly extraordinary
Totally right. 💯👍
This film is incredible. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal both deserved awards.
Roger Deakins suffers from a rare condition where he can't shoot a single shot without making it look spectacularly beautiful
