First off man. Way to go on your invention that is sweet. Second right on on getting out there and digging in idaho. I'm right up the road. Heavy pans my friend
Cool just found your channel! I’m in Boise but only until the end of summer then I’m moving to the east coast. I do prospecting and rock hunting and metal detecting!
@@walliefister6361 yes and no, it had a lot of great places to go outdoors. But nothing to do as far as city life really. I like having lived many different places and being able to have a mix of it all.
Nice video! If you are in boise, the Idaho gold prospectors association has a meeting April 13th. You could definitely sell a few of those magnetic drill attachments...super cool. Hopefully I can pick your brain, I go to a local claim near Centreville (miss lucy), getting a little bored of that spot and would love to venture out. Anyways, great vid, keep them coming
Nice place - I'm also in the Boise area, I'm just starting to prospect and have only found a couple specs so far, so glad to see some history of why there's gold in the area and what to look for in the gravel banks
I come from southern California an I'm dying to get out on the river an sluice..unfortunately my sluice was stolen an my crowbar too so I gotta get those again before I go out
I just moved out of Jackson Wy c oppose months ago. I moved there partly so I was closer to Idaho to go prospecting but never did... I just never knew where you can go and can't go etc. Is this public land? How do you know where you can and can't go? Do you have a website or source for me to check in case I even get back there?
How do you know where you can pan or not? Can you just pull off somewhere and start panning or what? Or if there is a claim on the land can you still go in the river? I'm just getting into this all but don't know the rules or laws at alllll...
sweet like the video man I am near swan falls I'll go down there this week and give a couple of tests pants I just started out panning myself so hopefully I find some gold
Live in Kuna I tried panning on Indian creek no black sand or nothing a bust Black canyon dam over in Emmett has some also willow creek I know this area well😊
Great video. I was wondering where you got your map information? I've been trying to find the information or the program that shows where the mines were, the formations, the contacts, who owns the land, etc. I saw one video where the guy used google earth, but some kind of layer that showed that information. Where do I find that? Thanks!
Awesome video man, yea everyone stay tuned, we got some really exciting prospecting videos in some historic gold mining country here in Idaho and maybe will find some of that golden shiny. Just have to wait till the snow melts. 🤠
Nice gold recovery. I was just wondering is that place Public Access or do you have to have a claim there? In Washington I had a really good spot I could go to and find tiny nuggets and some fine gold. But here in Idaho I'm new to this area. This gives me ideas on where to go. Would love to find a public access area I could go to. Cuz I don't have a claim yet.
The first place you was at was Murtaugh and you was on private property that's why there was a gate go on up stream to star falls much better than there that's already been mine in 1895
I just agreed to purchase 2 50 acre lots in remote Lehmi salmon nat forest. Both have several mines in them. I know nothing about mines and the potential of epa issues. Can you direct me to info or give me a quick overview of what to be concerned about? I want the land for its land not the mines but I dont wabt to be stuck with a toxic clean up.
how about new york ? make a video like this ill do some prospecting with video upstate ny albany area ,,, i wanna open the map for ny even though they say you cant keep it it will still be cool knowing where the gold is ,,, ive found a little here and there already gained a sub thank s prospectors theory Facebook group for helping fellow prospectors find each other ,,
Good job. Snake river gold is very fine. Go to home Depot get a plastic wash tub works better when panning. I'm 6 generation Idaho and Oregon territory. First we're you were has already been dredged that river is loaded. But it's so fine. Milner and perine had a dredge in late 1800s. Blue lakes golf course is it's tailings all the canal's in twinfalls dug by milner not corps of engineers. Or blm. That's minidoka. Milner was totally private. And milner dam. I know. I built the new one. Now gold is my hobby. Bonanza bar was a town and gold strike. Across from Coldwater just downstream from massacre rocks. You can see were the dredge first dug into raft river then proceeded through Gifford springs. All the islands in river. Are tailings from 3 bucket dredges. Pard. They only recovered 08% of what they had on their tables. 92%went right back in the river. They would use potato sacks and coat them with mercury. The gold perine got built twinfalls the gold milner got fed the farms. And you forgot evil kenivel he tried to jump the river were your at. And get a little drege. And go up to power house below milner the boil holes. Suck them out. You'll get mason jars full. The water bored holes in the basalt. I tell you all this so you can get you some. My days are numbered now. But this has been my hobby for 50 years I'm 64. Go have fun. And beware. That rivers loaded with platinum big vein of it in the wapi flow. Sheepherders used to bring in pie pan size chunks of it. I know my valley history. I was taught it by original settlers
Sir my family has 120 acres on snake river by glengarry and twin falls .any information on this area gold or platinum would be greatly aperciated.thank you for any help
@@charlesuhl7430 Glenn's ferry I'm not sure of. How far the fine gold goes down. But one way to find out is go to the river and pann some. Remember it's very fine. Use your jet dry in your panning tub. Go slow. Fine gold is not chunky gold. It's better to work alot of sand over a shaker table. Mount Baker mining has videos and "ask Jeff Williams" is a very good source on learning this hobby. Both have a great free library on you tube. And gold is everywhere you just have to know what your looking for. Good luck. And have fun. Who knows. You may strike it rich. And always respect the land. Don't leave holes.
Why would you presume that was an illegal mining operation ? It may have been private ground at one point or it may have been a permitted operation if it's public ground.
@@MiningMagnets ya I have been down there. It is messed up and lots of equipment remnants. If you look up the claims data you'll find that the land has been registered for mining just East of there but not ever for the area shown that I could find
I'm not hating on your learning process with prospecting but you probably didn't even find any gold listen you will never find gold in flow sands and where I would have been digging if I was you is the old diggings you passed by walking down to the river remember this bigger the rocks bigger the gold smaller the rocks smaller the gold and you have to do your research go where gold was found before follow the old timers find old prospects test test test everywhere but not in sands
Great information on finding gold in Idaho it looks like a fun day on the river. Cant wait for that magic bit to arrive.

suggestion; when filming, move the phone/camera slowly. fast movement doesn't allow viewers or the camera to focus or see what you are talking about.
Did you ever follow up with video 2?
There are bench placers up in the walls of the canyon that are very rich in superfine gold
