Today we are replacing the driver’s side mirror glass on Parker’s 2018 Ford F-150 XLT Sport. He parked it on the street one night, and then found the mirror shattered and hanging the next day, so he ordered a new one through Ford. It’s fairly simple to replace the glass on these trucks if you need to do this yourself, or if you’re adding some kind of lights inside your mirror housing, Phil shows you how to get the old glass off, and put the new glass on. This specific procedure applies to 2015-2020 F-150s with non-tow mirrors, but it’s nearly the same for 2004-2014 trucks as well.

I bet that clip will never get replaced 😂
Thank you! Just saved me a couple hundred bucks!
Thank you for the video, nice and easy👍
Thanks for the video, explains it perfectly.
Win win thanks my dudes
I don't like that lil mirror up top on mine probably gonna replace the mirror in mine soon ...thanks for the video..
I want the mirror on top, it’s so much better when towing or just being able to see in your blind spot with a quick glance and not having to move your entire body just to check if a car is there
Ty
i have to change my mirror driver side. looks fairly easy. i add my experience
My mirrors came with a pry tool. It pushed the wires right off.
What is the round plastic mount that the pane clicks into called? Mine ripped out when I tried to unlock the pane
Good video
It is typically called the adjust motor. This is what moves the glass up and down, and side to side.
Do the clips go outside the plastic ears that stick out or do they go somewhere inside them
Should go inside if I remember correctly.
What would happen if you installed the mirror without those 2 metal clips? I had the same thing happen, came out of the grocery store, found my mirror glass on the ground. I picked it up but didn't see the clips anywhere on the ground.
It should still work, the clips only stabilize it from what I know, sort of used to reduce shaking and control the movement in whichever direction.
I just replaced my mirror glass. Only thing is when I adjust the mirror using the control it only goes up and down. Any idea or suggestions that I can check to see if the motor is operating as expected? Maybe I missed something?
Where can you purchase JL3Z-17K707-A and what does it cost?
We picked it up over the parts counter at the local Ford dealership. At the time it was just over $100, but prices may vary now. It can also be found online in various places for cheaper.
Where did you get the replacement?
We picked it up at our local Ford dealership
I'd say it was a wasted opportunity to get rid of that terrible "blind spot" split mirror design.
The most important part of the install are the clips. This was glossed over and was shown in shadows, even though there was a camera operator, and the lack of light made it difficult to see. My old mirror was vandalized and clips were missing so it was of no help. I Rate this video as POOR.
