In this new series we're building ICM's CR.42. In this first episode we build the cockpit and detail it with the Quinta Studios 3D decal set. My Patreon pages are at www.patreon.co...
Interesting kit. I've never tried a ICM kit before but so far from what I saw I might give one a go. It's a shame ICM didn't include photoetched seat belts with the kit but I guess you can't have everything. They also have the Bristol Blenheim ll in 1/32 scale, by chance will you try that at some point? Looking forward to seeing what camo you will put on the kit.
@@TheModelShed Yeah you're right, it is the Beaufort. Had my reading glasses this time so I could see better. My eyes are getting bad. Thanks for the correction and maybe you'll build the Beaufort?
I've shied away from their Tarhe not only due to the expense but due to the delicacy of the kit it requires extra parts. But this one looks pretty good.
Brilliant! The Fiat C.R. 42 is a very neat plane, as are numerous other Italian aircraft from that war. The Quinta Studio decals look just great, so I'll have to try them out myself soon.
Nice work Steve, the Quinta Studio's decals make a big difference, will start using them in my kits, as always love your attention to detail, this will be a nice kit when finished.
The Italian WW2 fighter planes were at least as good as the ones of the allies or the other axis powers. The Luftwaffe e.g. even called the Fiat G.55 Centauro as the best fighter of the axis after a comparison with the Bf109 and the FW190.It's a mistery to me,why the interest is so little in producing kits in 1/32.Maybe Italeri can change this with their upcoming Folgore and other manufacturers jump on the bandwagon...
I would recommend that when using the Quinta studio decals, that you use white glue such as Micro Kristal Klear. I my experience there is little in the way of adhesion on the decals. I do believe that Quinta recommends some sort of fixer be it super glue or white glue. .
I’ve used Quinta Studio 3D decals a few times. They’re really easy to use and look incredible. My view of them is that they’re only on the backing paper in order to print them. You can soak the whole sheet, seperate them, dry them with paper towel and put them aside to glue with CA, PVA or whatever you like at a later date without detriment. There’s no adhesive, per se.
Ah I see what you did there 😀. One good thing about YT is the wide choice of modelling videos in different styles - and there are plenty of 15 min “full” builds out there. Not here though.
Looking good!
thank you👍
Great looking biplane thole Falco's. Looking forward to seeing what scheme you do it in. Thanks for the videos.
you’re welcome
great work on cockpit
Thanks Mick 👍
Interesting build Steve.
Looking forward to following this build
Thanks Jerry
This is going to be a beauty. Thank you Steve.
👍
Great job once again, I really enjoy your videos
Good to know thanks Kevin
I don't normally watch live broadcasts, but yours are very watchable, so worth tuning in for...
Thanks Andy I enjoy the live chat as well
What a hudge box!! ICM always made a good kit :)
Unusual choice of model, still extremely good to watch 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks pete
Lovely choice of subject
Agreed - very different for me
Another 1/32 aircraft in The Model Shed. Oh, happy day!
Yes I’m enjoying this one 😃😃
Cockpit looks so real. Those QS decals look good.
They’re the first I’ve used and won’t be the last
The CR42 took part in the Battle of Britain (one was shot down in Suffolk. They were surprisingly agile but outclassed by all accounts.
I’ll be doing the BoB version from the kit

I cant see a Blenheim of any scale in their catalogue - nearest thing appears to be their new Beaufort ?

I’m impressed with ICM Kevin they’re producing some good kits these days

Thanks John it’s coming along nicely
I enjoy your you tube channel, but it would be nice to see the Bismarck completed!
i agree with you jurgen
It will be but it only needs to be done for the IPMS nationals in November- plenty of time yet to get those boats sorted out.
Wow those 3d decals are amazing. I would use them on every kit. If they make them.
I’m very impressed myself. I have them in the pipeline for my next 1/32 as well.

I’ve got the Folgore on pre order Detlev so that will be a 2024 build if it gets released on time
What do you do with all your model builds you tate them to model shower
No Jim they’d get wet 🤔
Please I-16 type 10 1/32 from ICM after.. 👏👏👏
Some day it’s on the list

thanks Gary they appear to have stuck very well but time will tel I guess - I’ll use PVA of some sort next time to be sure

@@johnmarley6695 I have never seen anybody do it that way, but it makes sense
sorry, starting this week with the cockpit? how long did it take to build the real aircraft?
