I think every one of us Aussie and Kiwi viewers wants to see Larson get a Bathurst drive
That would be so sick tbh
That'd be one scared yank.
Absolutely
Unfortunately quite unlikely even if the schedules aligned
He has raced sprintcars in Aus
Hell yeah we do
God defend New Zealand 🙏🏾💪🏾🇳🇿. SVG the flying Kiwi.
New Zealand camps on Australia's front yard and pretends to be a country. NZ is almost defenceless, and that helps them balance the books and live beyond their means with Australia having their back - paying for $400bn nuclear subs to keep them safe. Really, NZ should be an Aussie state - it's about the right size for that. And fun fact.... *NZ is ALREADY written into the Australian constitution* as a potential state of the federation along with all the others. It would be fairer to everybody if NZ faced facts and started contributing to our taxes that pay for the military.
Not going to lie, but watching SVG and Larson battle for the lead, gave me AJ Foyt and Mario Andretti vibes. These are once-in-a-lifetime talents in motorsports.
@sunshinecoolwater9528 It gave me the SVG v Scotty Mac vibe. Larson even had Scotty's old number. 17. Good to see 97 v 17 Duke it out on a street course again.
He had to work for that win. Great watching him battle with Kyle
This is how Scott McLaughlin and SVG regularly raced for years and it was exactly the same with Kyle Larson. It was very entertaining to watch. You can see how good the calibre of driving is when they can race that hard up front and still be faster than the rest of the field. Usually hard racing between 2 cars slows their lap times and allows the car behind to catch up. Great respect shown by both drivers. They were both clearly having fun 👍
And zero contact, too. 2 very clean drivers, as long as you don't piss either of them off ;)
Was awesome to see SVG having a ding dong battle with a car with 17 on it again! That was Scotty Mac's number when he and SVG were battling in Supercars.
Wouldn't that be great,
Excuse me mate he was getting his arse kicked by McLaughlin
@@RobertAlexander-m3h Not every time. They had a few battles when they swapped the lead.
@@michaelcrane2475 most of the time🙂
Good on you highlighting that fact. Well Done.
Would love to see Kyle do Bathurst. Would be sick. He's a helluva race car driver
Larson co-drive with SVG. Promoters dream.
SVG and Larson, two of the best in the world.
That is your opinion and up for debate
@@larryhenderson2319
@@larryhenderson2319 SVG probably, Larson meh. One trick pony.
@@larryhenderson2319 Of course it's an opinion. But I for one certainly agree with it
@@larryhenderson2319
Everything is up for debate.
BUT.....most of the worlds best young race drivers target F1, not NASCAR or even Indycar.
Not surprisingly, even the best have no chance at F1 unless they have many millions of dollars to buy their first drive.....so those who dont have the cash go to sports cars, the electo shit heaps, Indycar or touring cars ( such as Supercars ).
Very few go to NASCAR ( if any ), but many go to NASCAR to end their career with pockets full of money.
Despite these facts, the USA has produced many drivers considered good enough to be " possibly" the best ever, but not many.
AJ Foyt leads the US in that regard, but not generally considered the best driver from the Americas.
Juan Manual Fangio from Argentina ( could be from Brazil for all I know ) is considered the best of all time, and like AJ Foyt, he won in all car types and on all surfaces.....except he competed against the best in the world, while AJ Foyte stuck to America and the local hot shots.
Mario Andretti and a few others also have claims to being as good as any.
Australia's Jack Brabham dominated Sprint Car racing in Australia before moving to England to race Sprint Cars there for more money .
As a self funded mechanic, he ended up working on F1 cars with the spanners......until they discovered he was quicker than the paid drivers .
Brabham won his first World Drivers Championship, maybe 2.....but he built his own car and won the Drivers title again, beating Ferrari, Alpha Romeo, Lotus, Cooper etc etc .
The only driver to win the F1 title in his own car......all up he won 3 World Tiles as driver and 2 as team owner and car builder.
A working class sprint car driver / mechanic from Australia with NO money.
No other sprint car driver has done that, yet the USA has had more sprint car champions than Australia has people.
Oh......and New Zealand beats us in F1 statistics.
We have about 4 or 5 cities with a bigger population than New Zealand, yet they have produced more top shelf drivers than us, and even Bruce McClaren....his cars dominated US sports car racing until the US made Chapparels appeared.....with ground effects, fan suction gimmicks etc.
Unfortunately, the Chapparels were eventually banned everywhere, even in the USA .
America has some of the worlds best road racing, but southern red necks generally cant compete at those levels, so they do drag racing or NASCAR, or dirt track ovals ( speedway ).
Shane is the master at managing tyre wear,He knows how to phase in his tyres
💯
@@SilverHawk777 tyre wear that may have been an issue if they actually ran more than 25 out of 50 laps under green . 2 stage breaks wasted 8-10 laps then all the cautions ... Fuel and tyre wear that should have been an issue for early pitters didn't come into play At all
@@Bogues_88yeah should have been 75 laps, that was the worst part of it
Go SVG great to see a V8 Supercars driver doing great job job in NASCAR. Kiwis and Aussie’s Motorsport fans are wrapped mate love it.
We're all Aussies, being that NZ isn't really a country.
Larson and SVG racing so hard and pretty clean like that for lap after lap.
That boys is how its done. A master class in driving racecars.
Absolute respect between those guys.
Im pretty sure I even saw Shane give Kyle a thumbs up during the race. 👍👍
Well looks like my company will be doing SVG winner shirts for Trackhouse via Crusin Sports!
Racecratft.
Clean, respectful, fair.
SVG is a thinking driver.....he knows better than to try to win the race in the early laps.
SVG always looks after the car and tyres until it's time to put the hammer down......he doesnt even try to win pole with kamikazi driving.....he just qualifies safely and within the cars boundaries.
If the car is good enough, he will win in the closing laps.
Love watching Larsen and Shane also Gibbs and others going at it, it was a fabulous contest out there!...just racing at the highest level....agree why not 75laps, 50 with cautions was to short but was a fantastic start to the weekend and huge win for Nascar on the street.
This story is just getting started!
As an Aussie, 2nd year in a row I’ve watched thinking “Gizzy will win this” to “Shit I hope Gizzy wins this” those cautions took up a lot of laps but did make it more nail biting. I think NASCAR fans are starting to realise why we back this guy so hard on street circuits. Though HE DID CLIP THE WALL which I haven’t seen him do in YEARS
as a Kiwi we appreciate the support my guy 😎
You should have warned em what's coming... he smoked the aussies now he's goin after the yanks.
@@mattjames2728 yea good luck. he's got a lot to learn before he smokes anyone over here
@@mattjames2728 WHAT r u smoking? He was in by far the best team (888), the same team Whincup won 7 Stuporcar Titles. Hopefully Kostecki can get a good gig in NASCAR, then SVG can try and smoke HIM.
@@mattjames2728 I'm smoking the same stuff you are. He did beat us Aussies that's why i'm glad he left so he could do the same thing to the USA which i'd much rather see. Because you can't warn the Americans, or you can do is show them and see if they'll be good sports about it. But it's coming, I've never seen anything keep this guy down. He couldn't care about the road courses, we know what the goal is. Once he nails the ovals then they're all screwed.
So true those guys raced great and clean against each other. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens tomorrow. Great stuff, as always. Great win for SVG.
Svg looked better driving through traffic than Larson on their second set of tyres
Leaaassgooo my Main Man Nikolai coming in with the race breakdown ASAP. Loving your content bro

Shane and Karl Larson drive was breathtaking, it was so exciting to watch, I was on the edge of set! Bravo guys! Let’s do it again

What you saw was it was like a sprint race. 😎
Too bad they ruined Larson's car in that pit stop, would have been nice to see that battle all the way through and see who won.
Go gizz . Get ‘em cup boys too ..
Back to work tomorrow for Gizzy 🇳🇿
SVG did get lucky when he clipped the wall, but yeah, that was such a great race between him and Larson
As an Aussie watching Shane grow up and dominate the Australian super V8 he's the real deal I would like to see some real deal Americans transfer to Australia to compete in the super V8 they're on a another level when Marcos Ambrose returned from NASCAR he couldn't cut it😊
Yep, let’s see some NASCAR guys drive Bathurst.
You dare disrespect Ambrose. He probably had a huge come down after returning. Unless you commit 100% plus, you can't compete.
When yor done, yor done.
Ambrose is a Legend. Go SVG.
Thank you Nikolai for your blogs, you do a very good job of communicating details, facts etc,Trevor of Christcurch
This was a really good race, but we could have had a Larson/SVG and potentially even Gibbs battle for the ages. The Stages killed any chance of that. They need to get rid of them for road/street especially.
Damn shame we only got to see 25 laps of actual racing NASCAR needs to learn how to do street and road races .. if they can't figure it out maybe just don't count the stupid caution laps. Why fo we need lose 4-5 laps on. Stage break when there isn't even wrecked cars to clean up.
I am surprised they don't count the warm up laps as well
Because in a normal race that has 400 or 500 laps, if there's a lot of cautions it will take an entire day to finish the race. They just keep the same format for these types of races to get them in
Wet Dry that Kiwi can fly.
$2.85 in N.Z lol, although i multied him in the cup race.. lets go 🎉
Gizzy in NZ and Australia.
They put svg up at 6.5 for cup, big mistake!
Most impressive for me was that whilst they were battling and slowing each other down AJ couldn’t keep up.
😂🤘💥
Nice recap as always. But most importantly enjoy that fried chicken!
V8 Supercars are racing in Aussie this weekend. Yesterday was a good race, but the infinity series absolutely creamed it.
What amazes me with NASCAR, no one gets upset at Fords poor performance?
There's only 2Ford teams in NASCAR XFINITY series ..
6 Ford teams Cup Series ..
Last year Kyle said that he was watching SVGs race craft to see what he could learn.
I wonder if Austin Hill took some notes on how to race cleanly and respectfully.
What I did notice is that AH freaked out when he saw SVG in his mirrors and lost 3 places. lol. I honestly hope he can get over it one day, but it means he is going to have to take a couple of steps up the maturity ladder. SVG wouldn't want him scarred for life either.
Hill gives the finger, SVG gives the thumbs up, for a good battle, I hope they shared a beer and swapped notes after the race.
Go the ‘ GIZ ‘ Cheers from New Zealand

Serious question... Has anyone swept all the road/street races in a single season before?
(since it was just two road courses a year) I do not think so

Not happening this year with his penalty that knocked him back of the pack in COTA
street courses are the bread n butter of V8 Supercar drivers from Oz /NZ
Bloody Awesome 😎
Why do the cautions take so long? I can understand when there is oil or what not on the track. But say a car that wont start cant they caution that part of the track or move the car a bit quicker? Lol SVG still pulled it off however!
@jakichan4 this is just my personal opinion but I think the cautions and constant restarts is more for the benefit of the cars biggest sponsors, so the camera is constantly got sponsors names in view, otherwise teams would struggle getting them in the first place.
A helicopter with a dirty big magnet would work ok.
Awesome race cant wait for tomoz
Mmm.... I'm in Australia, and my local KFC burned down last year. They are now rebuilding it from the ground up but it's taking too long! Weird thing is one of the 3 local hamburger joints also burned down just a couple weeks later - and they just re-opened. They make HUGE hamburgers that I love love love.
But you got that right - nothing beats a big bucket of chicken pieces!
There are a half dozen Supercar drivers in Australia who can run with SVG. But even here he's rated as a driver who can have epic battles and stay on that level of intensity like a machine. The other handful of top guys are maybe as fast, but SVG probably is "the natural" - where as it's just a bit harder for everybody else.
You need a Nascar street race at DETROIT. The home of American street iron.
Meannnnnnnnn🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awesome Race Dude ! Larson is a serious contender for sures. SVG's gonna feel Bad As, when he finally wins an Oval. Go and have some chicken wings you deserve it. 😂 from NZ
rip deegan... feel for her but its a results sport, danica hung around thx to godaddy $$ and we saw those results
The problem for Shane is how quick the cup cars are compared to his car, he’ll still win, I must say I don’t see the reasoning for stages. It takes away the stamina.
@@timazu7763 what do you mean .. the cup cars are not that much much faster cup cars need lot more HP. Cup cars are far easier to drive than XFINITY
I have been saying, don't be surprised if he wins both events, and almost everyone has been disagreeing with me
Look , Larson is my all around racing HERO.. ! I wouldnt be surprised at all if SVG won both events..!! I remember when Shane first showed up he was demonstrating his footwork and Larson and other Cup racers we’re astonished at his foot movements… clutch , brake and throttle..! So i think some of the guys are learning from perhaps the best pure road racer on the planet … Not a hater … love SVG … ! ❤ When some of the KIWI’S are trashing our Cup racers they are really trashing the likes of Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon ect .. ! Remember these guys raced 2 road courses a year in a completely different machine and it wasnt always a priority to Win on a R/C to win a championships…!!! LETS GO..! 🏁🇺🇸
@@Naoj2024Kyle Larson appears to be an exceptional driver also. He’s far from restricted to oval racing… I know how SVG races, I know his style and his tenacity is going to be hard to beat.
