Great video Judge, and very informative. Not going to lie, going on that barrel pick was one of the best experiences I have ever had in the world of bourbon. Can’t thank you enough
Great run through! Just did my first barrel pick from Taconic Distillery up in NY. Really awesome 5 year bourbon, half of the barrel aged with Amburana. If your ever up in Ithaca, stop in to Nowhere Special for a pour. Really wanna do a Sagamore pick next year if some things work out. Cheers! 🐙🥃
So cool to here how a barrel pick is done. My wife and I did the Hard Truth barrel pick experience if someone is just looking for a simplified barrel pick, it was a lot of fun, just pick a sample and take a bottle home. Cheers
Great video Judge! I see you work with Keg n Bottle… so who initiates the request to a distiller? I assume Keg n bottle or the liquor store has to put in request with distiller for barrel pick?
Great info, judge. My local liquor store did a store pick of Blantons about two months ago. I bought two bottles at 60 dollars each. I bought them for family because I don't drink Bourbon myself. One thing I've learned from other UA-camrs, is that sometimes store picks are not as good as the regular releases. You are relying on the subjective taste palates of other whiskey drinkers. You may disagree with them. This local store is going an Eagle Rare store pick next and I'm waiting to get one of those.

At first, I was going to pass on this episode, and, after watching, I am very glad that I did not pass and watched it. Very interesting. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for pulling the curtain back a bit on that process. I am in Logistics and totally can see delays and other issues that could arise. Cheers 🍻

Good points.
2:26 pole vault ? sounds like a lot of to do !
Two quick questions Judge….. 1. Do you get the option to keep the barrel? 2. If you wanted the bottles in 1L or 1.75L, will they work with you?
1. Some distillers let you keep the barrel and some dont. 2. Nah the bottle is typically 750ml.
Bourbon Judge any of your picks still available?
Woodinville and Starlight honey are sold out. However many more starting this week will be available for patrons.
Can we buy a bottle from one of your picks? You any any available?
