Thank you so much for making such high quality videos with all of the arrows, comparisons and the text explaining each condition. With your videos I was able to study for my radiology exam without having to read a 1000 page or whatever book and receive a 90% on my marks. Cheers mate and keep doing your best
Hello doctor... I am 16 weeks pregnant n my report showed during 12 weeks I had high risk of trisomy 21 but now after triple marker test the risk is becoming lower from 1:700 to 1:120... May I know if my child will be normal.. I am very scared n nervous
Hello! These reports can only provide a risk assessment. It cannot provide a definitive diagnosis. The only way to diagnose Down Syndrome is through Diagnostic tests like Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis. Please consult with your gynecologist. Best Wishes!
Most Welcome! The abnormal doppler indices for postmenopausal are non-specific for a specific disease. These can be seen in patients with endometrial carcinoma, fibroids or abnormal pelvic bleeding.
Good Morning doctor. My wife is pregnant with 36 weeks. Her current Doppler's findings are MCR s/d 2.63 (RI 0.65 & PI 1.02), Umbilical Artery s/d 2.02 (RI 0.5 & PI 0.75), LUA s/d 9.75 (RI 0.9 & PI 1.75), RUA s/d 2.15 (RI 0.54 & PI 0.86). Our doctor is suggesting C-Section as waiting for normal delivery may leads to Risk to baby heath due to low blood flow in baby brain. Can you pls suggest should we wait or go for C-section.
Thank You so much for this educative video Dr Sam Pls my question is, how do you interrogate for either right or left Uterine artery knowing that there are two uterine artries
Most Welcome and thanks for watching! If both uterine arteries show abnormal values, there is higher risk of preeclampsia or IUGR. If only one artery shows abnormal values, the risk is slightly lower but it is still significant.
In normal, low-risk pregnancies, uterine artery Doppler is less commonly performed in late pregnancy. It is performed in women with previous complications or who are showing signs of conditions like preeclampsia or intrauterine growth restriction.
In My 12 week 5days NT the right uterine pi is 1.48 Left uterine pi is 0.43 Ductus venosus pi is 0.64 what are these sir all these parameters are in good condition
Hello! The ductus venosus PI is normal. The difference between the right and left uterine artery PI in your case is notable. This needs to be correlated clinically.
In my 20wk Doppler study( anomaly scan) right uterine artery S/D 5.03 RI 0.8 PI 1.95, left uterine artery S/D 3.89 RI 0.74 PI 1.59 , uterine artery mean PI= 1.77 and ductus venosus S/D 2.94 PI 0.91.. report is normal or not.? please reply 🙏
Sir i am 27 week pregnant. And lt.utrine arttery Doppler. Pi 1.47. ri 0.69, s/d ratio is 3.26 Rt. Art flow is . S/d ratio is 2.38, pi is 0.99, Ri is 0.69. it is normal please reply me
Plz dr check my umb-psv is 36.67cm/s and umb- edv is 6.43cm/s. Umb-s/d is 5.70 and umb-ri is 0.82, umb-pi is 1.54. Plz dr tell me is there any placental insufficieny? Is scan was done at 22 weeks
Hello! Umb-S/D is slightly elevated. This does not directly indicate placental insufficiency. It requires close monitoring on further ultrasound scans. The rest of the values are within normal range. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult with your doctor. Best Wishes!
An RI of 0.79 might suggest increased resistance in the uterine arteries. Possible causes include placental insufficiency, Preeclampsia, Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR), or other maternal factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or autoimmune diseases, which can affect blood flow to the placenta. Please consult with your doctor. Best Wishes!

What are the indications for uterine artery doppler? Why we perform?
Means usually we use to perform umblical arter doppler?
Indications include suspected preeclampsia, IUGR, twin pregancies, recurrent miscarriages and chronic hypertension
Is there any significance of uterine artery Doppler in 9 months of pregnancy
In normal, low-risk pregnancies, uterine artery Doppler is less commonly performed in late pregnancy. It is performed in women with previous complications or who are showing signs of conditions like preeclampsia or intrauterine growth restriction.
Thank you 🙏

Please Dr Sam placental artery
Are you referring to intra placental arterial doppler?
Is notching at 13 week okay??
Yes, notching can be seen normally at 13 weeks. It can disappear by 16 weeks. Further monitoring on ultrasound is important. Best Wishes!
31weeks my RI is 0.79 😢 what can be the cause
