Anything With Alvin always turns into Alvin meal prepping for the crew and sending them home with boxes of leftovers. Honestly, that's my favorite part of the show.
so many cooking shows/youtubers are so wasteful, seeing Alvin make bonus things from scraps and sending people home with boxes of leftovers really warms this bitter old heart
but each episode gets destroyed (for me) by showing alvin chewing with his mouth wide open. for me personally, it's one of the most disgusting things a human can do while eating.
Yeah, at this point I feel like Alvin's shows are just a cover for his being the BCU staff caterer, and really I'm here for it.
@@pcl89skill issue
I wish I could get free leftovers from my work. But unfortunately metal chips aren't edible
Korean here, That green sauce is probably a kiwi sauce. If that toast is 'Isaac Toast' brand(Biggest and most famous street style toast brand).
That green sauce is a kiwi sauce? Does it taste like kiwis?
@@misanthropicservitorofmars2116 Yeah It's sweet & sour sauce. but not that much strong kiwi flavor tho.
Eyyy fellow korean hello mate
Any idea what the relish type sauce is?
@@gamejunky3040 Just relish.
Growing up poor making homemade pizzas but with bread was my favorite thing to do when starving, but this video takes that to the next level.
And all those years ago did you know you were making Korean street food?
I remember making those "pizzas" with sandwich bread, ketchup and whatever cheese we had in the house
Then there's the slight graduation upgrade to pop biscuits, then again up to French bread.
Man, if there was a patreon tier of "gets one of the take aways from episodes", that'd be amazing.
yes now they have to make 42 thousand bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and ship them all over the world
@@sabbathjackal the would be a logistical nightmare.
@@jwalster9412 Not my problem. I want that sando.
You literally can’t make a baconeggncheese outside a New York bodega 😂😂😂
Alvin is secretly actually a grandma, and is just covertly fighting all the crew getting "too skinny because they never eat".
1:27 Sauce on video is would be BBQ or kiwi sauce, and since this is a pizza toast so I think it's BBQ, but it is a toast, so I think do as you like is best option. And one more thing, I hope you put cabbage 4 times more and squeeze it to hold it tight. Subtle sweetness inside of satisfing crunchness gonna make this toast next level!
What nonsense are you talking about? You don't squeeze this all you'd end up with is a flat sandwich, they just get wrapped. Stop trying to pretend like you know what you are talking about.
@@thomgizziz Sir, 태아나서 토스트라고는 그릴드 치즈까지가 끝인 미개한 촌놈 주제에 넌센스는 무슨 넌센스야? Just type 아이작토스트 on your google and watch other put cabbage at least twice more than this video. Than you HAVE TO squeese it to hold it or inside spills out and get messy.
@@thomgizziz wow you are so mad
I love all the extra care that is shown around how Alvin handles the leftovers in every episode. As a big hater of food waste it touches my heart thanks Alvin
Video idea: The forgotten recipe from Ratatouille: Sweet bread a la gusteau which is later becomes the "special order" after Remy's modification. It would be fun to try the original recipe and try to engineer what new sauce Remy makes for it too!
The leafy green in the video clip looks more like iceberg lettuce than cabbage, although the cabbage would be more traditional... I make something similar, but instead of toasting the bread, I layer it with cheese and fry it in butter then add the cooked egg mixed with fried mushroom, onions and sweet sausage or crispy bacon, topped with a mayo-catsup mix and S&P. Makes a nice change from plain grilled cheese...
Yum! Candied jalapeños would be a fantastic addition to the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich.
Was just debating what to eat for brunch and this video pops up. Not sure how to do square eggs though. Might have to build some Frankenstein-esque contraption to hold the eggs.
No need to go too over the top, kitchen foil is your friend here.
No rush, you can literally just aluminium foil to make shapes, technically also use strips of thin cardboard for stability as long as they're entirely wrapped in foil!
I'm lazy and hate cleaning the molds, so my Korean toasts are always a circle. I just use my smallest non-stick frying pan so the eggs don't run everywhere and make one at a time. Not as pretty, but shapes don't have much flavor so it's still delicious.
Just... fold the sides of your eggs towards the center after flipping, into a square.
If you really wanna commit, it’s only $5-10 for a tiny square cast iron. I use mine almost exclusively for square eggs lol
A Streetfood series, if not already done, would be amazing!
I wonder if you could leave out the hot sauce and crispy cabbage and sub in a bit of kimchi instead? 🤔
These time lapse shots are absolutely beautiful, and so well paced! I couldn't take my eyes off the process; cheers to the editors!
Those Korean street food vids are the BEST
looks a lot better than what I did as a kid. smear ketchup on bread, generously top with shredded cheese, put it on a changair (woven roti plate) and microwave till melted cheese. the changair was vital cause unlike a regular plate, its holes prevented the bottom going soggy
Didnt know my poor family in the 90s was making this very traditional Korean dish. Guess we were pretty cultured after all 😅
I wouldn't call it "very traditional", as that implies that it's been around for hundreds of years, but yeah, it's easy to see how anyone could come up with it.
@@Nightriser271828 R/whoosh
Im gonna say it ALVIN SHOULD HAVE HIS OWN WEBSITE
You should absolutely try making dishes from Delicious in Dungeon! It'd be cool to see how you manage the different monster meat, like scorpions and frogs.
The hot sauce he put on the bacon, egg, and cheese is definitely one of the best hot sauce brands I have had. Forgot what it is called but I remember the bottle.
Here for the name! ;)
I think its yellowbird
@@acutebisectrix9461 Yellowbird Habanero
@@craigfitzy21 Yeah, that is it. When I posted the comment I was not at home to check. Thank you for that.
If you have a local Walmart, check there. They have a display of sample size sauce bottles for Yellow Bird, Melindas, Kinder, and a few others for $1 each.
You should do a full on Gilgeori toast! Maybe one with the cabbage mixture cooked and one with the cabbage mixture left raw to compare?
When I watch these videos there is always a pan, mold, or tool I don't have ... I find myself echoing Jack Nicholson’s " where does he get all those wonderful toys?"
This turned out amazing-family loved it. A new favorite!
In the video it looks like they might be using Taiwanese flat cabbage, which is pretty different from regular green cabbage. If you can't find it, the closest widely available substitute is probably savoy cabbage.
Always love to see the abundance of food getting packed up to be distributed. This one very much has "making lunches for the kids" vibes though 😂
Yea! I love when Rachel shows up!! What a great addition... you can definitely see her influence on these recipes. ❤
Pizza toast is AWESOME! Pizza and toast together?! What a win 😋😋😋
I wanna try this myself!
4:49 Brown sauce could also work for the breakfast-y vibe of this variation
Alvin continues to be an absolute win for this channel. I can't get enough. Thanks Alvin!
If you spray the molds with PAM first, they come right off. Alternatively, I have teflon molds that don’t need spray.
This is top notch comfort watching
Everytime I look at korean food recipes I wonder how everybody in korea isn't like 300 pounds lol. Double deep fried hot dogs, ramen with american cheese and spam, massive egg drop sandwiches with mayo on them. It's look they look at american cusiine and go "we can definitely add more calories onto this".
I love how the one nod to a fresh vegetable discarded in the Americanised version.
I am watching this video as I eat a Chinese Savoury Crepe. Now I kinda want to see Alvin make it because it seems like something he would like to make.
I love this series/show
Babish please research “Cake Flavored Pizza” and “Pizza Flavored Cake!” Gravity Falls is my comfort show
I've made something similar once I saw on one of those korean videos. Cooking haru is also someone that I copied a couple of these sandwich type recipies from, they always taste way better than they ever have any right to considering what's in them.
Huge fan here Babish!!
Can you do a two part episode Grindhouse style where you make
The Nachos from Quentin Tarantino's Deathproof
And the bbq sauce from Robert Rodriguez Planet Terror.
Please do this!!!!
It would make a great episode
It's an interesting combo of foods for sure! The cabbage seems like it freshens/lightens up the meal
I think I might do the breakfast version some time. That would be so yummy first thing in the morning! 🤤
Tried making it, didn’t have all the ingredients so I improvised crazily and still doesn’t taste bad
as long as you got the toasted bread and the fried egg, the rest is up to preference...
Go Alvin Go Alvin!! Love your episodes dude! Great job. I heard those square egg mold template things are actually based on the size of cheese slices.
Personal preference here, but I just can't do ketchup on eggs. Loved the hot sauce touch though. Also love how Alvin can explore his own creative freedom on here. Delicious looking greatness every time.
I watched this after not watching Babish in a while. I'm not fully on board yet, but I can find a path to enjoy this.
Quick/cheap version: take a piece of toast, sauce of choice (marinara, pesto, etc), and shredded cheese. Put sauce on toast, then cheese, then microwave for a bit. Try to enjoy it (probably won't)
Replace tomato sauce with something more palatable, marinara or pesto or even alfredo
Bet
I’ve done this, but I cooked it in the oven. It works.
i eat this every few weeks
Used to hit up the Isaac 2-3 times a week for some pizza toast. Very nostalgic.
These look fun and convenient. Which egg square molds did you use because I see a lot of complaints on different brands about sticking/leaking. Thank you for sharing.
These look amazing
Pizza Toast? South Korea sounds like a street food mecha on top of being the epicenter of some really creative minds.
Oh, yes. I survived in Seoul by those stalls alone. Well, not really, but it's one of the most rewarding parts of the trip -- from traditional street foods like tteokbokki (rice cakes in a spicy sauce) and odeng (fish cake) to corndogs and stuff like these. I haven't had the chance to try their street toasts, though -- and there are many variants.
South Korea is also in a down spiral of economic collapse because of the declining birth rate, lack of domestic jobs, and non-existent international trade.
I am curious how the reheating leftovers process went
Everyone has to try Korea street toast at least once in their lifetime!
Need me one of them square molds!
That bacon, egg, and cheese is making me drool right now.
I might be wrong but as a Korean, that Green sauce from the beginning(the one w/ketchup) is pickle relish sauce I think???
Great food as always, Alvin
Watching this while eating the bacon, egg, and cheese wrap I made.
PLEASE make the pizza pasta bake from Fears to Fathom 4!!
You should have someone to represent every part of the world, African, European, South American, Australia and whoever else I’m missing and have them do dishes from their own territory. Just a thought 😁 love this channel.
Looks delicious.
i am more interessted in the hiney-pesto souce and what you can add it too
Making an american verson, or removing all the vegetables :D
but according to Regan, Ketchup is a Veg D:
That green sauce looks like a kiwi sauce
'Anything with Alvin', the accidental evolution of 'Streetfood with Senpai'
Now that's a full meal right there.
Yum! I love binging with Babish. Edit: and Alvin
We definitely need you to recreate that crazy garlic bread that's submerged in garlic butter
Egg and corn with pizza huh? Never tried it, but it sounds delish
any thoughts to make the square fold without the tool?
I like Alvin’s bright white hat with nothing written on it
That Bacon Egg and Cheese is what I choose to believe Harley Quinn was truly craving.
Spilling With Alvin is my favourite show
Alvin is the reason I watch these videos
I saw on the Korean Englishman channel that Isaacs toast uses a sweet Kiwi fruit green sauce
Where did the egg moulds come from? What brand are they?
I just realised Alvin has been in buzz feed, tasty and now in Babish culunary universe
Where do you get those square flattop molds?
Where can you find the square thing they used for the eggs
They have the same thing in Bulgaria
They call it "Princessa"
Oh thats so yummy
Kiwi. It's kiwi sweet sauce
Idea for the next anime with alvin , delicious in dungeon.
I am sure of this, that some day, some Michelin Starred restaurant or highly acclaimed restaurant is going to have a Chef who cites Andrew as their biggest inspiration. It just makes sense that someone who has dispensed so much knowledge completely for free, would end up inspiring someone to follow their own vision.
I wanna buy that square mold... time to look for it
i would recommend a Tomagoyaki Pan (Japanese Omelette). They're about sandwich size and shape and just useful for cooking other things as well. And also pretty cheap, probably close to the same price as one of those molds on Amazon. Or also, Lodge makes a small 5.5 inch square cast iron skillet for pretty cheap too.
What is the brand of that flat top that you are using.
More Streetfoods!
now I wanna make pizza asap
My dad would make something similar but just used leftover or veggies that were about to go bad and pepperoni but he called them pizza boats
Bacon, egg and cheese, sign me up 🍽️
Cabbage is so under appreciated
I feel like *half* of one of those would be a solid breakfast
Please make the ultra tower sandwich from Pokémon scarlet and violet!
That freakin hi-hat is driving me nuts 😂
I like your Korean street food series! These looks really delicious!
Now I'm waiting for "toast hawai"
Toast on the streets, moe on the sheets! ^-^
Like the presentation of the recipe. Can you do an anime recipe, the Tempest Blue drink from Slime Diaries?
Hey Babish, how about rating Whole Foods' frozen pasta dishes too? Can you include Raos' stuff as well, please? Thank you in advance.
Go Bolts, Steve!!!!
Could you pls do the world famous tuna crepe from Saiki K? ❤
