As an early 90's kid (I'm not that old), who actually played with one these back then, the magic is still present in this iteration. So freakin' happy to see this get the remake we never knew we wanted. And we won't lose the hands anymore!
I have both versions of this figure pre-ordered, I cannot wait to get them. Figure of the Year for me, and I don't even have them in-hand. This is the toy I've wanted to exist for literally decades.

Truly a real Masterpiece of a toy. My Animation colors version isn't here yet but the 01 set is amazing and I absolutely love it.
That's beautiful simple engineering. The posability most always wanted. Wonderful. I'd love to see that design in a live action series/movie, maybe based off the British comic's story.

I'm a bit divided on this design. On one hand, I'm happy that they gave the original G1 design a well needed update, and actually kept the hands AS A PART of the toy itself, instead of adding them only in robot mode (I HATE partsforming), I don't really like how overly skinny the frame is, and the lack of a back is kind of weird. Yes, the Lego Optimus Prime set, which is amazing and I actually own it, does have a lack of a backpack, but at least then, you can say that Lego hadn't advanced enough to create a set that will also give him a back cover.
I like the extra paint on the trailer version , but I like the windshield on this version.
