I love 5:39 to 6:13 That is one of the most cruel and bitter truth of life. I think that the way that Makayla asked in a mature and open way is very ahead for children her age. I feel somehow amazed and proud of her. I'm not sure whether she realized the truth by herself, that her parents tell her, or maybe both, either way i think it's best to tell children about it soon. Now the thing is, as to how to tell children that sometimes no matter how hard you try it's just not meant to be, i am not sure myself 😅. So kudos to Makayla and her parents. And for Angel, i agree with Makayla, that is a very good response. In the end it's just up to luck. And no man knows how to be lucky, no man can master how to be lucky. Man can only be themselves and try their best, and in the end it's still up to luck. So I understand why Angel choked, man I would cry a river if i am asked that question. And I don't know if Angel has other privileges in achieving her dreams (because you can not deny that certain privileges will play a BIG role in reaching where you wannabe), but the way she answered was very humble and somehow calms (?) me. So i think indeed that was a perfect response. It was a really heartwarming and touching part for me. i love it. Anyway thanks to Makayla, Angel, other kids, parents and staff for bringing this content to us 👍
I am POSITIVE she could have broken that glass, it’s just that she would have had to hit the right frequency. Like flick against the glass, listen closely to what note you hear and then sing that note very loud and intensely. She’s so awesome and powerful, she ABSOLUTELY would have shattered that thing.
@@ChallieWallie Exactly. Low quality glass has mechanical imperfections (grains, dislocations, etc) which help the material dissipate vibrations better. Higher quality glass is smoother and more prompt to breaking because it has fewer microscopic imperfections. So actually cheap glass looks worse but the material is better.
She would probably have done it if she had held it very close to her mouth, but the problem with that is that when it shatters it can fly into your mouth
Dorothy Pierre Well, all these fairytale princesses are inspired in some European folklore or other so what did you expect? If the were based on African kings and queens there would quite a few, now would it? There’s diversity and there’s facts. Don’t take offence where there’s none given
"That's good [that you get nervous] because that means that you care" - literally what I'm going to think about now every time I get nervous to help myself feel better. I love her
These kids are all pretty sweet and exposed to a lot of different people so I really would like to think it’s not about race. I think because the dress is so dark and from such a different time period than we usually see in animated princess movies, she reminded her of nobility, but not a princess. I had the same thought, that she looked vaguely princess like and then I realized oh that seems more like a Victorian era dress. But it’s true, we need more instances of representation so that Tiana and Moana aren’t the only modern princess more girls can look up to. I mean I’m a brunette and I’ve always felt like most characters in cartoons don’t look like me (I guess brown, curly hair is boring??), so I couldn’t imagine how it’d feel if race made it even more difficult to feel represented.
This woman is amazing! I saw her in the metropolitan opera's production of Porgy and Bess. She played Bess and was beautiful. This woman has a lot of lung power!
The trick to breaking a glass with your voice isn't singing high, it's to match the frequency the glass resonates at. If she taps the glass near her ear and sings the exact note/frequency she hears the glass will shatter. It also helps to have a straw in the glass: when you have the right frequency the straw will start to spin around due to the glass vibrating. Then it's just a matter of keeping that note going until the glass breaks.
I was searching for this comment, and I was about to write the same thing. Maybe they purposely didn't sing to the right frequency so that the kids would not get injured from the breaking glass
@@user-bl3fl7cu7p yeah but so what? Of course a black woman would have more similarities with a black disney princess than a white or poc (other than black) one. Tell me, does she look like Mulan? Man can only be themselves and try their best, and in the end it's still up to luck. So I understand why Angel choked, man I would cry a river if i am asked that question.
And I don't know if Angel has other privileges in achieving her dreams (because you can not deny that certain privileges will play a BIG role in reaching where you wannabe), but the way she answered was very humble and somehow calms (?) me. So i think indeed that was a perfect response.
It was a really heartwarming and touching part for me. i love it. Anyway thanks to Makayla, Angel, other kids, parents and staff for bringing this content to us 👍
that girl in the black dress is very mature in her age.. wish I could raise my daughter as well as her parents did
The girl also has a brother, who I assume is her twin and they are both very well spoken and intelligent kids. Their parents must be wizards.
I am POSITIVE she could have broken that glass, it’s just that she would have had to hit the right frequency. Like flick against the glass, listen closely to what note you hear and then sing that note very loud and intensely. She’s so awesome and powerful, she ABSOLUTELY would have shattered that thing.
I think the glass would have to be the right thickness too.
Glass should be high quality crystal.
Mythbusters actually devoted an episode on this subject.
Yup
@@ChallieWallie Exactly. Low quality glass has mechanical imperfections (grains, dislocations, etc) which help the material dissipate vibrations better. Higher quality glass is smoother and more prompt to breaking because it has fewer microscopic imperfections.
So actually cheap glass looks worse but the material is better.
She would probably have done it if she had held it very close to her mouth, but the problem with that is that when it shatters it can fly into your mouth
That young lady in the black dress is REALLY SMART!

That little girl was letting everyone know that she looks like a princess but she doesn’t see enough princesses like Angel.
Your profile pic matches your comment
Well, she mentioned Tiana but I guess she meant that Angel is actually much beautiful compared to Tiana
I guess the fact that she could only bring up Tiana is saying something, Disney princesses are certainly lacking in the diversity department.
Feeling that one as well, Angel looked at the camera like 'Well, that's a different video girl!'

I love her
And it's so true.
My trumpet instructor said pretty much the same thing to me before I performed a solo. One of the most important things I ever needed to hear.
She's so pretty, like, no joke, she's beautiful.
2:33 you can hear the opera singer has a very soulful voice as well. In addition to opera, she can definitely nail soul music.
I’m going to need a full duet of the song “Ain’t no mountain high enough” with both the singer and child, that was just adorable 😫❤️❤️
Dev Boy o
"Yes (you like a princess) but you don't remind me of one," why did I cry hearing that? Can we have more princesses that look like her?
I dunno why the kid said that, is it the dress or what?
It's not the dress, it could be. Maybe because all the princesses in films are Caucasian?
It was honestly very rude like wtf
She mentioned Tiana. But absolutely, we need more princess representation.
This opera singer is a beautiful woman...........wow.........Praise God for her.

Lol, it's official, I'm ready for a UA-cam channel.
This is why opera singers need the right stage for the voice not a small room
The trick to breaking a glass with your voice isn't singing high, it's to match the frequency the glass resonates at.
If she taps the glass near her ear and sings the exact note/frequency she hears the glass will shatter.
It also helps to have a straw in the glass: when you have the right frequency the straw will start to spin around due to the glass vibrating. Then it's just a matter of keeping that note going until the glass breaks.
Wow
Cool!
I was searching for this comment, and I was about to write the same thing. Maybe they purposely didn't sing to the right frequency so that the kids would not get injured from the breaking glass
trying this when I get home. ahahahahhaha

yeah but so what? Of course a black woman would have more similarities with a black disney princess than a white or poc (other than black) one.
Tell me, does she look like Mulan? Ariel? Jasmín, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Moana, Rapunzel, Elsa/Anna or any other disney princess other than tiana? No she does not.
Not everything that mentions race is automatically bad or racist.
