What an amazing story. I love the way it all began... And I love the way it is now. I love the way you put together these videos and I love the sound of your voice. Dearest Tony please keep them coming because those of us who cannot have their own Fleming masterpiece love following your creations here on UA-cam. You are a truly inspiring person! Well done!
I just have to let you know how great your videos are, your comments and stories are so interesting. As a retired man who doesn’t get too far away from home and with my 75 inch TV I find myself watching you cruise the different parts of the world on the venture. Better than a movie. So don’t stop making this your trips and posting them. Thank so much for sharing. EJ
what an inspiring life you have had Tony, so glad to have found your channel, love your boats, just out of my price range, again thanks for all you have done
Thank you Tony for this short autobiography of your apprentice years. I too was an engineering apprentice in the 1950's, this was a time when you could buy an Austin 7 for a fiver! I wish now that I had bought several and locked them away for a few years.
Tony, it is interesting that you worked for DeHavilland. Being an American, I know that DeHavilland, specifically Geoffory DeHavilland, was a forward looking company and individual. The work done on the Comet still works in the industry today. That must have been an amazing time in your life, at least in retrospect. I wish that we had Apprenticeship programs like the one you started at 17 in this country. We certainly could use something like that. As to your car, what an amazing journey it has been through. You should be, most likely are, very proud of it, and rightly so. All of this explains why Fleming Yachts are top tier in their class.
It is always a pleasure to hear from you, Sir. Glad to know that your car, almost hand made, became such a treasure, deserving the to be shown. A very rewarding outcome. You may be proud of your accomplishment.
My wife hears your voice in the background as I watch all your videos. She says his voice makes me feel calm. I tell her the videos make me calm :) Need more men like you in this time.
My father-in-law was an Aeronautical Engineer, 75 yrs ago, and worked for Howard Hughes, who my husband was named after. My husband was an acoustical engineer who out of necessity branched into audio/video. Tho dearly loved, would not trust either in a row boat! Again, breathtaking footage. It is stunning even in a downpour. And you are SO safe, warm and secure on Venture II. Snug as a bug in a rug
You know, screw advertising, this is the best advertising you can get for a company because it is the actual owner amazes me, hopefully i can own and travel and explore the world on a Fleming yacht.
I have a story.. i had heard from a man aka Michael Savage " Weiner" he had a Grand Banks i was so enamored of his discription of the twine diesel engines, on the last day of the Fort Lauderdale Fl boat show. I drove down to see only that boat. Then i find Tony who desired to design a better cruiseing vessel!!! Then i got to travel along with the best narrator on the awsome Fleming to beautiful places all around the world !! Thank you Tony!!!
Very good to learn of your beginnings sir. How fortunate you were to have attended de Haviland Aircraft as an apprentice, and to hear that you have such fond memories. I wish you all the best as you continue on the journey of life, and to let us share in the fascination of seeing the world from Venture.
I got goosebumps watching this. All of your videos are really beautiful and moving. They are of profound value to those of us that love boats and engineering in general. Your adVentures are truly inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you - I love this Tony; my son is just starting out on his career in engineering - he's hoping to study automotive at University - I really hope he finds as much joy in it as you obviously have...
Tony, thank you for sharing that amazing story. It's great getting to "know you better" and I look forward to hearing more from you as time goes by. I love the boats you have built even though I will, most likely, never be aboard (much less own) one but simply knowing there are Fleming Yachts out there makes me, oddly, very happy. Be well.
As is the nature of life…so may interconnections. I wanted you to know that your videos and calm outlook helped me pass through some very serious and dark moments a 8ish years ago. Fair sailings to you and your fam and support team. 🙏🥃🙏
Amazing life, car, boat and overall amazing trips to alaska. Im from Spain and I love sail in my small sailboat 22' long. I love the sea. And I would like to make sailing trips longer than a day. Thank you for sharing your spectacular trips.
hello David, how are you doing. I hope you are safe and in good health. Looking for a new friend and i saw your pic here. I hope you don't mind thank you.
Fascinating Tony, the De Havilland building facing on to the "old" A1 dirt road was a wonderful art deco looking frontage which is no longer there. I remember from the early 1970's some of the apprentices from there went to to Welwyn Garden City to do their ONC's cannot remember if that was called De Havilland College back then? We went to Hatfield Polytechnic (Now University) to do HNC's/HND's and degrees. The chaps coming out of De Havilland were always excellent mechanical engineers and most of the crowd I knew worked up at British Aerospace in Stevenage and more interested in Electronics. I remember my Dad went to some of the open days at De Havilland and I regret not going to any of those. Wonderful overview of your time at De Havilland and brought back some nice memories for me. Thank you.
I am pleased that the video brought back memories. I am a stong supporter of the apprenticeship system and it's really a shame it has fallen by the wayside. Many of the best apprentices were snapped up by USA aerospace companies at vastly enhanced salaries.
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this channel :) I'm wondering if you ever met my grandparents who had a motor vessel off the solent from I believe the late 50's - the MV Felicity Girl. Last moored as far as I know at Wareham.

What can I say? Just amazed by the stories about you!
The car is wonderful. Its qualities encouraged its owners to invest in it. Your videos are the same actually. One could easily make a commericailly sucessful video series from them. They are all so beautiful. And of course the yachts are another example of your creative abilities.
I just don't know what to say anymore?? Spellbound! Brilliance personified! Also: my father described his boat as a hole in the water he shoveled money into. I wonder what the yearly maintenance costs would be +++++ GAS on a Fleming? BE WELL
That's very satisfying for you to have such an experience and see your car from your youth being appreciated and cared for even now. Wonder what its being appraised at now?!

Tony Fleming, you never cease to amaze me.
WOW! BRO!!!! I am speechless!!!! What a beautiful work! No wonder the yachts are works of art....you're a mechanized De Vinci!
I think you are correct...
