Beautiful land and people, you also fitted right in with that, including squat down laundry & enjoying the bus ride out the window. 😅
I think your previous birth may have been somewhere there. 🙏

Great video, thank you for sharing the good and bad. Favourite part was either the clouds up high or the scene with you chatting with the lady on the floor of the teahouse. Would be interested in hearing what you actually ended up in taking in your packs. My wife and I are thinking of doing this trek next fall. I too, carry the CDN flag. Thanks.

Thanks for watching, so glad you enjoyed! And thanks for sharing your favourite part 😊 Mostly what we took out of our bags was a few extra layers, our sleeping bags and some products like sunscreen that we had accidentally doubled up on. Just made sure that none of our stuff overlapped. When we did a trek in Nov of 2019 we needed the sleeping bags but we realized we didn’t need them this time as we did the trek in September and it was warmer.

Amazing Vlog! Have u guys had a guide or was ur journey before April 2023?

Thank you so much! 😊 We did not have a guide, though we did our Langtang & ABC treks in October/November 2023. We asked around while there and everyone said that the region of Annapurna had decided not to enforce the new guide rule as of yet. When going through checkpoints, the officials did not question us about not having a guide, in fact rather the opposite - they seemed impressed that we had arranged everything ourselves!

Hi! Thanks for watching, absolutely we can. Keep in mind that our route was actually a bit slower than anticipated, as we decided to stop on "Day 4" for Tara's sister to recover. Also we included the days we travelled by bus, so if you exclude that we were "hiking" for 7 days.
      Langtang Itinerary
      Day 1: KTM - Syrabrubesi
Day 2: Syrabrubesi - Llama hotel
Day 3: Llama hotel - Tibetan Guest House
Day 4: Tibetan Guest House - Summit Guest House (Thangshysap)
Day 5: Summit Guest House (Thangshysap) - Summit Guest House (Gyanjin Gumpa)
Day 6: Summit Guest House (Gyanjin Gumpa) - Tserko Ri - back to Summit Guest House (Gyanjin Gumpa)
Day 7: Summit Guest House (Gyanjin Gumpa) - Summit Guest House (Thangshysap)
Day 8: Summit Guest House (Thangshysap) - Hotel Bamboo & Lodge (Bamboo)
Day 9: Hotel Bamboo & Lodge (Bamboo) - Syrabrubesi
      Day 10: Syrabrubesi - KTM
Based off of our experience, we'd recommend going in October or later to have a better chance at clear skies. Have a great Trek! :)

    • @ouiaretravellers

So exciting! We did Mardi Himal in 2019, our first time in Nepal. Loved it! Definitely pack snacks like granola bars, nuts, chocolate bars and maybe even packages of oatmeal for breakfast if you can spare the weight in your bag. We definitely found that skipping lunch was great for keeping a good pace, as well as staying on budget. You could also bring your own instant coffee packets or tea bags and only ask for boiled water. There will still be a charge, but slightly cheaper.
Also, always ask if you can either get the room for free in the teahouses, or if you do pay for a room (negotiate the price), if it can come with wifi (not having to pay extra for it). Usually if you eat at their restaurant, the room is often free. But during high season, this would be unlikely.

Do you guys need TIMS (trekker information management system) before entering lantang?

    • @ouiaretravellers
      @ouiaretravellers  2 місяці тому

We didn't this time, they seem to have removed that from the requirements, as only guides could request it, and when we checked in at all checkpoints, they did not ask for it
