I wish I was able to keep mine. I bought the Sears version because it looked more sturdy. I also bought the tape player that plugged into the cartridege slot (Dragonstomper and some other games) very expensive. I spent lots of money on this 2600 and would have enjoyed the controllers more if they were built better. Activision and Imagic were top companies and it wasn't long before 2600 was obsolete. Loved playing Kaboom until my controllers wore out. You could pull the power plug out slightly messing with the voltage spike and glitch the game causing all kinds of weird graphics and odd game play. That's what you do when you are bored playing Night Driver and other dumb purchases. Then 5200 came and so om...nice system but the fancy controllers were poorly engineered. Nice to see all the games!

Wow, thank you very much for your in-depth comment. I'm from Brazil, but there were also Sears stores here. In fact, the Sears store was the first escalator in Brazil.
This age was the birth of Activision, the best games for Atari 2600, in my opinion.
I also didn't keep my Atari 2600. Back then, our parents gave our older video games to our younger cousins as soon as they bought a new one. At least, that was the old custom in Brazil in the 80s and 90s.
Thank you very much for your visit and your story. Have a great 2025.

@@worldgames1979 May God Bless You and have a fantastic 2025. There are plenty of games you have posted I did not get a chance to play. I did not have that kind of money nor did we have access to these games even in the big stores of the USA. There were some gems to be sure but judging from the previews you have shown I would definately have changed my library back when. The 2600 was truly a unique experience as games just made it to the tv in a expandable fasion and just beating out the competition. In my area we did not benefit from many discounts and most of these cartridges sold for at least $25 starting price. I believe it was avaraging abount $35 for the popular titles like Yar's Revenge. For Dragonstomper I paid $75 for the tape player and another $50 for the tape (game). So you can see how much a library and 3rd party game controllers could easily total in the hundreds of dollars.
