It's a balancing act. When he's reasonable he's more reasonable, but when he's obnoxious he's more obnoxious. Just look at the clip where he pesters Parkzer to make a pact. Even knowing it's all in good fun and he *will* leave Parkzer alone if asked firmly, that was difficult to watch.
@@i-am-linjaIt was difficult to watch two good friends joke about exchanging colon bacteria for a pact? I think you need to find more silly/rambunctious friends if you think that their exchange was bad or something.
In terms of numbers and opportunity, aiming to be in e-sports is like aiming to be a major celebrity, or an Olympic athlete, or a billionaire. It's possible, but maybe have a Plan A for when it never happens.
The advice I've heard is: aim to _do_ a particular thing, not to _be_ a particular thing. If you love acting, act; if you just want your face on buildings, don't waste your time.
for everyone saying it was thoughtful, i haven't researched it, but getting a job as an esports manager cant be too hard if the guy who sucks at 2d platformers got a job at it
for every 1 dougdoug there’s 150 people who dove headfirst into careers like this who we have never heard of because for one reason or another it did not work out
@scj6693 And we only know him because he started a UA-cam channel called DougDog. If he was still eSports Manager Douglas Wreden, we probably wouldn't have heard of him, or his olive oil habit.
I'll be honest I have never understood the appeal of esports. Maybe it's my Nintendo-grown childish ass speaking, but my brain has only ever registered it as basically gentrified speedrunning. Not 1 to 1 wrt to the actions mind you, but like, grassroots community movement vs company backed giant cashpools begging for FIFA-like recognition.
That was surprisingly insightful and well thought-out. This can't be DougDoug - maybe it's OugDoug? We hate DougDoug.
This is the dougdoug that is bad at 2d platformers, you’re thinking of the one that is got at them
This is Carl getting out of character to speak the truth from the bottom of his heart
that was penguim doug doug
Gottem
We hated OugDoug but we hate DougDoug
I mean....actually that was really helpful and insightful
I know right?! Good thing we DougDoug haters have a place to go, visit r/wehatedougdoug to continue the conversation!
Technically life crushed their dreams. This was more a "give it too me straight doc" moment, and he did.
Possibly the most serious I have ever seen Doug. Genuinely helpful too, realistic advice is better than hyping them up for potential failure
DougDoug actually giving good advices makes me feel nauseous. Truly a change in his behavior since the blond hair.

@@Kengstorm2 Surely that's the _exact opposite_ of what I should do?
Doug really thought he could pull off being Parkzer smh

Everyone in chat is screaming for oxygen and I have no context, and I can't stop thinking:
COME ON, COHAAGEN! GIVE DEEZ PEOPLE AIR!
this man is so evil, thousands of people are dying, deprived of oxygen, and he doesn't even pay attention
Space is dangerous!
why is bro on the moon
Honestly, DougDoug might have just saved that kid’s whole freakin’ adulthood.
Paying for a degree in e-sports sounds like one of the dumbest things you could possibly do.
I wonder if there'll ever again be a genuinely new field of work that isn't either a soul furnace or a Ponzi scheme.
Ah yes, the child who goes to college
One day Doug will be held accountable for his _many,_ many crimes.
he do be right tho
he's being real but this isn't a 2d platformer

No he began to suck at 2D platformers after he got the job.
