Basically this means your photo was rejected. It's unfortunate cause now they don't tell you why it was rejected--in the past it was possible to fix a problem and reupload the photo if you thought it was worth it.

Ya definitely. You get paid via contributor fund every quarterly when the data set from your image is used by data scientists. I have already discussed how that happens in this video. If you guys are having the same question means you haven't watched this video 😁😁

@@ritakapoor1 the general public won’t see your data license approved photos only the researchers/businesses that are looking for info not on the regular site. From what I understand. You are putting photos in a pool of photos for a specific cause. If you content is helpful you get paid after the ordeal. It’s strange but keep uploading photos and learn along the way. Why is that and how will customers find these images to download? And yes DATA.
From what I understand it’s a different pool for photos that won’t be searchable on the main shutterstock site. I think it’s confusing because it’s so new and they are vague because they are still figuring it out. Ultimately it’s best to upload and try. Just start and learn along the way lol that’s why I am doing. Good luck!

Now it's in data licensing and let's say the use it, so I get paid (unknown how much) once. But then what? Will data licensing content generate revenue for years? Or is it only a once event and that's it. Also the quality of the content becomes much less important and it seems that the quantity becomes more important, right? Or am I missing something?

Multiple parallal contracts are always running so we will get contributor fund every quarterly. And as usual shiity content will never be sold. So instead of rejecting they are having mercy on crappy contributors by allowing those shit files to generate some revenue. So it's a win win situation for beginners too. 👍

I produce a high quality content, rare drone shots and I know that my photos/video will get sold the traditional way. And if for some reason they suddenly will go into data sets will they produce the same amount of revenue. That was my concern.
That's never gonna happen. High quality files will sell more and generate more data. So more sales means more data generating and more earning in contributor fund.
But how do we monitor the revenue of our data used? for example: can SS say that 'oh your share is only XX USD' while in reality it is generating XXX USD, then how do we check? how can we know? @@TheTeachingDoc

@aneeshkotwal5157 Avoid submission to data licensing shutter stock told me has clarified to me that those photos do not fit in their specifications for commercial or image licensing are sent to data licensing. Its a excuse they are providing to regect your photos. They do not have binding on paying you as you do not know what is being used.
@@TheTeachingDoc Shutter stock has clarified that if you opt for data licensing and then after some images you opt out then also any image that does not meet the quality of commercial images will not be used for data licensing but will be marked for "eligible for data licensing" and after rectification you submit the same again it will be rejected saying "Already approved on site please do resubmit" meaning your image will be permanantly debared from shutter stock. Why ? because you made a mistake of opting in for data licensing

Bad pics are labelled for data licensing. Good pics are labelled for sales.

DATA. Do you know which months the contributor fund gets paid? I got a mysterious payment of $14 on 2nd May.
It means the next mysterious payment will be coming 3 months later i.e. in August. Every quarterly 😬
