Great motivational video for stock beginners! It's true about it not being a good idea to stop uploading after a small batch to wait and see if anything sells. I sold my first images when I had about 50 online, but then it went quiet again. It was when I had over 400 that sales really started to take off, so you have to be quite tunnel visioned and not even think about sales while you get your numbers up. Then when you do get sales, you'll start to see a pattern in which of your content sells the most and can focus on producing more of that if you want to. I really love stock because I enjoy trying out lots of different styles and subject matter, and what sells is often a surprise.

I am also a medical student and i enjoy photography as a hobby.. When i first uploaded photos to shutterstock I had that feeling "will it even work". But i made up my mind and uploaded some photos eventually selling them.. Thank you for making videos like this. Great motivation :-)

Good point on telling people not to start if they don’t love it. I love it but still get discouraged when I don’t get any sales. However ive recently been ramping up my videos and photos. I’m up to 530 images and 90 videos in shutter stock. 100 videos on adobe stock and 100 images and rising. Hopefully I will see more sales soon.

Lol Shutterstock does the marketting for you. If your photos are good and relevant they will sell automatically.
You are not alone. It's happening to everyone else. However not in my case because I am following some of the best practices. @@TheTeachingDoc Im not that advanced aswell xD but you see i have 4000 files online now. the file that sold for 48 dollars was a photo of rental apartments architecture in a popular city at the coast of belgium taken from the beach. Also im still making mistakes every day :p But i have seen my photoraphy and earnings improve. Im always trying to enter 45-50 keywords per foto that are relevant ofcourse and i mainly have animals,insects, reptiles, architecture, city scenery, landscapes. the animals, architecture and city seem to do best for me. Also video really boosted my monthly income i sell videos every month. its how i finally reached the 100 dollars on dreamstime i sold like 5 videos there in 2 months. but i have about 250 videos online i think. it seems like a real numbers game but at decent/good quality.

You cannot set price.. it's done by agency. No price depends on client subscription and resolution in which a file is purchased

And they only understand English and that's the same thing I tell my other viewers too who are having problem in understanding English videos. Most of their content are rejected due to titiel description and keywords. So even before photography they must learn and be strong in English. 10 years on Shutterstock got me 6200 dollars - 8500 downloads with 350 photos and couple of videos ...photo banks are overcrowded with "photographers" and images, It is flooded by nonsense so it is difficult to earn anything reasonable there until you do it at least 8 hours every single day...
Totally agree.. But we r not trying to depend on this for bread a butter.. Over here we r amateurs just feeling proud with the possibility of standing out with pros on international platform getting our casual work featured on some well known agencies.. Hi sir! Thank you for the tips. I've started to sell photos. They are approved, but none of them are actually show up on the gallery even when I search with 'the same exact picture' as the keywords. How to deal with it? Thank you
It won't show unless it's the best sellers. What you need to understand is "those exact same keywords" are present in millions of images and the ones already sold will be offered to the clients. That's how the algorithm works. For example I have same type of images with same keywords. When I search then, I can find mu best selling images on page 1 but others don't show up at all 😃

I mean one single image sold 50 times or more?
However don't worry if you try to do a reverse Google image search then I am sure your images will show up in Google. Good luck 😎

I joined Shutterstock contributor on Sep. 2021 and I only sold 12 photos tell now but, I'm still posting photos every month this month I sold 4 photos in the same month and this was a great number till now Because in the previous months I was selling 1 to 2 photos only each month.

Hi Arindam, My Photos have been approved on Adobe stock and shutterstock, do I need to perform any action to put them on sale or be visible to buyers or once approved I dont have to take any steps, it been 3 weeks I am confused If I am missing anything ?? Please Help
They are on sale. But they are competing against millions of images so dont expect sale to happen soon..infact There maybe 20 reasons why your files are not selling. Now I don't know what photos you have uploaded..so take a look at this detailed analysis video...

I recommend minimum 8 megapixel. Personally I upload in 24 megapixels size

You need to be 18 yrs or more. This is not casual social media. You need bank details, tax form everything. So if you are minor you guardian needs to give permission as well and yes permanent address is important for communication and billing as well as tax form.
