Oh nice! Beautiful part of Scotland and so good to have this trail centre now. They really have! I think it’s the same company doing the new Glentress build too so I’m quite excited to see what pops up there. Great to see so much development in Scotland!
I really enjoyed the video. It brought back many memories as I grew up in Tarland and although I now live near Glasgow I still visit regularly to visit childhood friends. I have yet to ride these trails but they are on my to do list. Looking forward to a trip North with free time to experience this. I liked and subscribed.

Then did the glen clocks/ loch muick decent on Friday. Your definitely right about some great riding in the area. With the perfect weather all week we had too, we were spoilt. Hoping it’s as good when I’m back up in October. Great channel by the way, love your vids.

Scotland needs more bike parks/trail centres like this! I live in Dumfries & Galloway, and yes we have quite a few trail centres down this way, but everything is full of really rough terrain, shingles, tree roots and rocks (Can't help the natural terrain i guess). I would love somewhere like this to open down this way. Something smooth and flowy that's quite forgiving, especially on a hard tail!.
It’s a great example of bike park flow. I’m hoping the new project at Glentress will deliver some flow and jumps too! A lot of the trail centres haven’t been updated in years so it’s nice to see more like this opening and as you say hopefully more will come further south too!
Another fantastic video, great review of the trails. I just hope they have a maintenance budget to match the building cost, braking bumps would not be good. Thanks for filming, Andy

Great vlog! The trails look mint and appear to deliver maximum fun and enjoyment. All three of my favourite MTB channels have walked away from Tarland recommending it. Aberdeenshire is a wonderful part of the world, we were there in Towie last year (holiday with our special needs dog - she needs a quiet location). Next time I'm up there, the LaPierre is coming with me! Cheers guys!

Visiting Ballater for a couple of days end of May, looking forward to riding up to Tarland so many great trails, thanks for sharing enjoyed this one 😁🤙
I have been very lucky to have visited Whistler and if has to be said that if the vision for Tarland is to replicate Whistler's flow and jump lines, the builders are doing a great job. Whilst Tarland seems to have fewer 'big' features, maybe these will follow. THAT SAID; where are Tarland's tree's? In a country renowned for its ancient, commercial and 're-wilded' forests , where have all the trees gone? These trails remind me of the new(ish) A14 in Cambridgeshire where huge amounts of money was spent on infrastructure, which has led to a widely reported eco-disaster. There are signs of trees (in your video) in both upper & lower Tarland, but so many of the trails you have so kindly shared with us, look so barren......and........ wind swept. Trees will help both. Maybe this will also follow later. I hope so. Aberdeen (and the Westminster Government) made billions from oil, so maybe someone somewhere should look into plough some of this back into greening 'the shire' and Tarland. It would also be good to if Tarland could get money/permission to add a chair lift and other commercial infrastructure. Then Scotland really could have a McWhistler. Thanks for your videos. My comments have no reflection on you or the trail heads who made this place. It has more to do with politics, landownership, ambition, health and safety, common sense and lobby groups. I ride more in N Wales, which I know you know well, where I am always bumping into tress that were there last week! They really do grow that fast!!! Best Wishes. Colin Dyas

Yeah it’s great, well worth a visit if you’re thinking about it. I think there are quite a few campsites nearby across ballater etc. the car park is a relatively normal hardstanding one for the trails 👍 enjoy if you go! It’s a pleasure 🙌
Hiya. Am itching to get there on friday myself...how are you finding the Insta360 camera Laura? I'm still on the fence between that and the GoPro - the Insta looks a bit obstrusive on the chin mount, how have you found it? Been keen for you to drop your thoughts/experience in to one of your next vids. This new place raises the bar now for Scottish MTB trail Centres, it's a long awaited addition to the repetoire. I think there is something in works for Dunoon as well....
Ah enjoy if you do! Cracking place. Guaranteed fun! They’ve really done a fantastic job. Yeah there’s been a project underway there. Keen to see what comes of it! Also the new revamped Glentress. Lots of exciting stuff happening! The Insta 360 is great but the model I went for (x3) is mounted vertically and therefore is obtrusive. Also as it’s a 360 camera, the footage needs to be edited and angle picked in the insta app first before downloading. I do love the footage though. Personally for normal landscape footage and vlogs my go to will still be the Go Pro for ease of use and being smaller and lighter. There are other models of insta though which are more go pro shaped!
looks a great place have to try that out as they are closing the jump run freestyle area at glentress,where can i get one of them mobile phone mounts for helmet ?
Can defo recommend it. Looking forward to the new glentress jumps when they’re in. Will be nice to have somewhere to work on jumping! We use go pro and standard mounts from a company called r3pro 👍

Ah that’s cool. Actually we noticed a place we sometimes ride called Les Hautes Rivières is very popular with Dutch riders and they said Belgium is great 😁

Thanks! I’d say so yes. We spent about 3 hours ish but there were a few trails I would have done twice over - especially the blue jump line! So I’d say easily enough for a 5 hour ride or so if you do some twice. Think another new trail there has just opened yesterday too. Hope that helps!
Hi I’d say absolutely without a doubt Tarland. Blue Doon is quite pedally and lots of straights and flat corners whereas tarland has a big variety of real flow trails that are feel good and full of berms. A lot more fun and exciting in my opinion :)

Was there on Thursday, epic trail centre. Was at glen livet for two days and all we was hearing was Tarland so had to head over.
The Grey Area at Glenlivet was my favourite section of trail on my Scotland trip last year 👊

Most of the trails are flat. But we have some little mountains with nice trails. . For the enduro trails we have to go to Belgium 🇧🇪 or to Germany 🇩🇪
