    Knowles overly complicated system to 3 years to implement including wasting a year of Sawyers time as the Jack. He was forced by Day to change his defense after the first oregon disaster. Only then did this abundance of talent take force. Penn State will fall back on defense while Knowles implements his over complicated scheme.

    Very nice job by defensive staff last couple years. For all the talk of brotherhood and grand team struggle to attain the best championship ever it seems completely inexplicable to make a sub lateral move to a very close rival. Not that my feelings matter but it feels like a betrayal in the context of all the great "spirit" around the team.
    to go to the rival down the street feels really extreme.

    This is hard to wrap my head around. But something about Knowles was always unsettling to me. I immediately liked Day, don't really know Kelly, Hartline is an open book (who doesn't love him), but I never could get a pulse on Knowles. And that's okay, just an observation.
    I can't help but say this (and I'm willing to get flack for it) I don't think being a vegan is good for your health, your emotions, or your brain function. I'm serious. Full disclosure... I have drank the carnivore "kool-aid." I had forgotten that Knowles is a vegan.
    Case in point: Knowles look like he's closer to 70, but he's only 59. (I thought that he was a smoker. His skin looks like he's a smoker.) Just something that has been in the back of my mind.

    Reports are Day and Knowles weren’t getting along. When you have success other teams poach your roster I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with it being announced same day as the natty celebration, that wasn’t an accident.

    Jim wanted to use a defensive end like Cleveland uses Myles Garrett or the Lions used Aidan Hutchinson. Larry Johnson didn't want to modernize. Jim has been spot on after Day. Finally , let Jim make some small changes after the Oregon loss, but Jim wants to run the Defensive Line like the Cleveland Browns. Larry Johnson wants to stick with a 30 year old system.

    Many of these channels are now blaming Jim Knowles leaving on a rift with Larry Johnson. Some saying they got he information from this channel. Normally this is an excellent channel but it seems like they started a big mess because of hear say. It's a shame. It's best not to speak on things if you don't provide proof. Not just "That's what I've been told." It doesn't help the football program at all. In fact it does just the opposite.

      Are you suggesting Knowles is leaving for PSU because of rumors circulating on UA-cam shows? I’m inclined to believe Knowles was leaving regardless of what this channel was saying, so it’s hard to see what mess was created by sharing hearsay.

    • @alanm03
      @alanm03 6 днів тому

      @@scottpoling5521 No. I'm suggesting that is best not to accept rumors as fact? It has nothing to do with whether or not you believed he was leaving or not. It's about reporting the circumstance. If Ryan Day or Jim Knowles did not say that was the reason, it is just hearsay. And to spread hearsay evidence is just spreading rumor. Not fact. That is what is meant by mess (Just stirring the pot.) No proof that that was the reason.

    Lmao 😂 the cool guy idgaf thing gets kinda old tbh. It’s alright to say that something sucks and is kind of a big deal. Our defense was mid as hell before Knowles got here and y’all know it. Does it affect your personal income negatively? Lol no it probs gets you guys more traffic - but for the average OSU fan this isn’t a nothing burger.

      2019 happened. The defense was good then. Yes it sucked in 2020 and 2021, but that was Coombs. Apparently Day had misgivings about that hire but gave in under the admin & boosters lobbying for Coombs to get the job. I doubt he will make that same mistake.

      @@OregunTrail Yeah, I’m not happy about it. I think some people are going all or nothing on the JK/LJ dispute angle. I think both are good and both had a hand in the late season improvement.
      Instead of taking a side, I think people should really really give Day his due. Defense isn’t his wheelhouse, but he saw a problem and went all CEO on that shit to fix it 😂
