I just bought a BMW M2 for 20k. These have dropped in price. Great little car, doesn't need anymore power. I'm going to do a review on my channel in a few weeks.
Funny you mentioned the Emira weight. Now I've finally driven one, I probably could have told you it's 240kg heavier than my 308 without seeing the specs, it felt a bit heavy. Also a bit hard work to drive, at least compared to a hot hatch and a GTS 4.0, not surprising really, but the difference was much more than I expected. Still would be my top 2nd car choice, but not a good daily (surprising conclusion, I know 😄). Normally I'd name a car I'd pick instead of something on the list, and there are good alternatives at all these prices, but I think these really are the best for each price! Ignoring that I've driven none of them personally, maybe I'll have a random go in an ND at some point to change that...
Interesting, I drove the Emira and noticed the weight but having driven a bunch of heavier cars in recent times it wasn’t as obvious! I think at the £5k range you should probably go mk2 MX5, but didn’t want to double up on MX5s in a video 😅
@@CarsWithJB MX-5 is always the answer 😁 The Clio being FWD might make it easier for young drivers to translate skills and learn all the other stuff for track driving though. Perspective is such a huge factor - driving the Emira and GTS 4.0 back to back, the Cayman was so much easier, but then I've put 20k miles on one (and the 981S is better than a 718 GTS, the salesman said the same). The Pug being light is why I love it mostly though, so if I can ever find an LC to test drive within 50 miles, I may have to back-to-back it with an Emira or something. The RCF and 992 both didn't feel especially heavy to me though, but probably relative to expectations since they're both almost half a tonne heavier than the 308... Still, I'm just starting to entertain the idea of a 981S with an upgraded head unit - that's literally the only thing I think the 718 does better. If you could get an Emira with V6 and dual clutch though, I'd say take my money.

Congrats! I drove one a little while ago and they are super fun for the money
Couldn’t find the £500 bracket? Did I miss?
£5k not £500
Breakers yard would be a good place
What's your opinion on the MR2 Spyder (3rd gen)?
Hoping to get one soon, heard great things but need to drive one myself.
@@CCCZMCI've had 4, 2 with 2zz swap. Just buy one asap you will not be disappointed
