Hi, you said you will link the tutorial below to show how to add professor’s slides and stuff in onenote but I cannot find the link. And I am not able to find the file option in onenote. Pls help!
Hey! I'm going to pin this comment, sorry about that.. here's how to add OneNote as a printer shorturl.at/mST69 To print, go to your teacher's slides in the powerpoint file, file -> print (select onenote as a printer) -> print to onenote. That's it! If you have any other concerns, please let me know :)
Hey guys! I think I'm going to tone it down and try to relax for the last month of summer, uploading 3x per week has made some of my content feel rushed and not where I want it to be. Thanks for understanding! Hopefully 1x/week will help bring the quality back to par. 😄 👇 If you want, you can reply to this comment what you guys are up to these days! (I'm just trying to chill for now though haha) 👇
@@sesadoshi630 I've just been making videos, watching anime and doing exercise. Gotta tighten up that sleep schedule because it's already the end of JULY 😅😅 Hope you're relaxing before school starts again, idk why it's so hard for me to actually relax though haha
@@Martin_Leung Ahh thats cool! And omg i knoww, I can't believe it's already almost augusttt o_o I deff need to fix my sleep schedule too haha and yeah, I mean things have been pretty chill especially since there isn't much to do for me right now so relaxings been good! You should relax too!!
The thumbs-up icon throughout the video is WAY too forceful, sorry. Because it's there in the middle of the screen you can't even fully show the functionality the video is talking about. A strange way to lose viewers, I think.
THANK YOU for making this video! I have had my surface pro X for about a month now and I haven't been able to use it because I didn't know how to take notes! I was writing in the paint app! How do you add the powerpoint to the actual notebook once you print it?
I guess I know how to use one note, but scared its going to take me too long to write stuff or find tools in it and I'm going to get behind while taking notes at first. I've used pencil and paper for my whole life, so I'm a bit nervous😅
pretty much any major can use a note taking app like this! definitely give it a try and if it doesn't stick, then that's completely fine! Thanks for watching :)
The pro 7 is pretty shit for basically everything. however one thing that its great for is class. beacuse its so shit i literally dont get the temptation to get distracted. and with the pen, its a pretty nice combo. prolly the only reason why i dont bring my razer to class and why i didnt get an ipad instead. ipads are way better unless u need windows specific apps, and u cant really annotate with a pen just like a paper. another perk with onenote is that it kinda corrects the font so that it looks pretty clean.
Great video! Learned more than talking to customer service. So happy you posted this. I’m taking the same classes you took and this device seems necessary haha
Do you have the paper like film on your screen? I was wondering if it is helpful or may be if it is necessary to have. Do you recommend the pen from microsoft or Amazon dupe?
Hi there Martin! I was wondering if you have any first year notes you’d be willing to share via email! I’m a first year med sci and I take all my own notes, however, it is always great to see upper year notes in case I missed some keep points or better explanations !
I have issues with the search function.. Unfortunately it cant find my handwritten notes when i search for it (ctrl + f). How can that be? For a short period of time it worked, but now i am totally helpless.
that's an issue with this version of OneNote, it's more for infinite notetaking and not really great for printouts... I don't print out many things, so I haven't run into this problem (but it's pretty stupid that this isn't an option). The best thing I could think of is view -> page width (gives you about the size of a page)
I’ve been looking at the surface pro 7 for a while now, but i can’t decide whether to buy it bc i heard that the palm rejection causes some problems with the pen. Can you write notes as you would in a notebook, resting your hand on the screen?
Yes! Print the pdf (ctrl + P) to OneNote, select the page range and decide where you want to print it. It will print the same way as you would print your lecture slides! Hope that helps!
Hi Martin, I've come to notice that the PDF files that OneNote (for Windows 10) exported to are of quite poor quality -- Have you had a workaround for that, and what is your workflow when you want to print out the notes or share as PDFs?
Hi Ian, I usually don't export my OneNote to pdf (due to the infinite scrolling). I usually summarize my notes into flashcards and then study with those
Enotes are the future haha, i might still hand write because of old habits ... Maybe i'll eventually make a switch! (Annotating diagrams would be GREAT compared to drawing them all the time ://) Thanks for making this vid!

I just scanned 2 years of notes into my one note. It took a while but at least my backpack now weighs less then me!
ayy sounds great!
What a coincidence LOL. I’ve been checking out surface vids for a few days and suddenly you uploaded one too. Great video, helped me a ton.
Haha glad to hear it helped! :)

How do you add the powerpoint to the actual notebook once you print it?
print to onenote should be quite simple once you do it once, it will ask you which notebook you want to "print" (import) the powerpoint to
I guess I know how to use one note, but scared its going to take me too long to write stuff or find tools in it and I'm going to get behind while taking notes at first. I've used pencil and paper for my whole life, so I'm a bit nervous😅
if writing by pencil has worked so far, you could just keep sticking to it!

Hey! Not a question specifically about note taking but does the pen scratch the screen?
Nope! Good question though :)

Like vid, you can also import the pdf into one note and hand write the comments on it
^yes, another comment asked about this already
Hey ! Can you change the colour of your annotation using the lasso tool ? Thank you !
yes, just lasso and then tap the pen color you want to change it to! sorry for the late reply!
Hi Martin, I bought Microsoft surface 7.0 pro plus. I downloaded OneNote windows 10. I only found a few functions. Shall I download a paid OneNote?
how did you downloaded the windows 10 version? i cant seem to find it
Very informative video Martin! I respect the video grind🔥
Ayy thanks Jason!
Awesome quick insight! I always wanted to take my notes on my surface, now I finally feel confident doing so!
what is the battery life for taking notes?
Hello, do you have onw with powerpoints and take notes on them.
not sure what you're asking but you just print your ppts to onenote and you can write on them
Great
Do u need the premium version to get all the tools like the lasso bc i dont see them
it should be there on the free version, usually the lasso is on one of the surface pen buttons
Great video..I am new at learning one note..question: why do u use power point..then transfer to one note? Does it make something easier? Thanks
I don't use PowerPoint, the professors do so I have to move it from their PowerPoint to OneNote before I can even annotate.
How is printing with one note? I heard u can't print A4 easily if u write outside of the page. How do u do it?
that's an issue with this version of OneNote, it's more for infinite notetaking and not really great for printouts... I don't print out many things, so I haven't run into this problem (but it's pretty stupid that this isn't an option). If you are using this and want to print out pdfs without cutting stuff out, then this might not be ideal (it will get annoying!)
@@Martin_Leung thank you for explaining
@@hobiday5833 yeah, no problem!
Can you import pdf slides into OneNote?
yes, it works the same as a ppt. Use print to onenote
Thanks for the vid, helped me out for oneNote. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks, glad it helped
Do you know if you can change the page size? if yes could you please do a video
File > Options > Display > uncheck "Show note containers on pages" try this and see if it works! It's for standard paper size I believe
Thank you!!!
I’ve been looking at the surface pro 7 for a while now, but i can’t decide whether to buy it bc i heard that the palm rejection causes some problems with the pen. Can you write notes as you would in a notebook, resting your hand on the screen?
so far it hasn't been much of an issue for me compared to my old surface (surface 3)
does it all work on a free version of one note?
yes
Thanks, Martin! I found the instruction that I have been looking for.
glad I could help
Very helpful, thank you
Thanks for watching
Hi I'm Martin
3:34
How much is the battery life when you write and use onenote?Do you use a battery pack to charge it or not?
I can't really give you a completely accurate estimate, but I don't bring my charger to class if that says anything
Background settings and other settings can affect this as well so it kind of varies. It lasts long enough in my classes though
Is it possible to do screen clippings from the internet? E.g. from pdf textbooks?
Yes! Print the pdf (ctrl + P) to OneNote, select the page range and decide where you want to print it. It will print the same way as you would print your lecture slides! Hope that helps!
Click the bottom right corner button that looks like a box with lines in it
And click “screen snip”
Then it’s in ur clipboard
wow thank you! so helpful
Glad to help!
Hi, I just watched your video, do you think is it more efficient to take notes on an Ipad or notebook? Haha
Hey! I think it's whichever option you're the most consistent with. I prefer the digital option because it's nice to not carry a ton of papers haha
