These Quads can be intimidating but stay with it. They are a very good boat carb with the center bowl, center float design. Economical to run but can be finicky to tune. Hang in there.
Great video as always Keith. I've got mine running and it is smooth and revs no probs, but I am getting black exhaust smoke. Oil is uncontaminated, water pumps OK. Any ideas please?
I’m led to believe that black smoke is unburnt fuel (it is with diesel engines not sure with petrol) So check your flame arrester is clean not blocked.

The flame arrestor is fitted to the top of the carburettor it looks like an aluminium air filter. I the video of me starting the engine you can see me talking it off to look down into the carburettor.

No I don’t have a manual I should look for one it would be handy.
The third arm was friend who is interested in what I was doing.
