I’m so happy you are still checking in. Your struggle represents many of our struggles with weight and food! I’m still trying to find my way at 58.
You are so far from where you were over a year ago!
    Keep at it!

I’m a vegetarian that doesn’t love cooking. Lots of faux meats and veggies on the side take less than ten minutes. Tofu baked off in 20 mins while you microwave a tater and chop up some veg. Steamer basket for the microwave is handy.
It’s mostly just finding your rotation and then veggie cooking honestly doesn’t take much more time or effort than a frozen meal. Tonight I had an impossible burger dipped in bbq sauce and a side of a whole sliced cucumber with two different dips. Took like 8 mins to make and super filling.
Quest chips are great for vegetarians and have several flavors-I like bbq the best followed by the sour cream cheddar. Such an easy way to grab 20 grams of protein at only 140 cals.
Always keep cheese sticks on hand and if you hate chopping veggies just opt for store made veggie platters once a week.

I think one of the biggest struggle is that you work from home. You have your routine of what you do at home and all the distractions. I have the same issue being a stay at home mom. I have to prioritize adding a workout time block in my daily routine. I hold myself accountable when I get distracted and procrastinate by telling myself I have no excuses.

I completely agree, having no schedule, and a bad sleep routine ruin me. I have to stay on schedule, or I tend to skip a workout. And a bad sleep routine has been studied, and it causes extra fat around your belly.

Yes to All of this!!! I too work from home and people think it makes it easier to find time to work out or exercise and I've found it to be the opposite! It's so much more challenging to be motivated and carve out that time because we never "punch out" from our jobs. 🤦🏼‍♀️ This is definitely a real thing and a different challenge that isn't talked about nearly enough. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@NiteMareBliss omg yes! I found it easier to building a routine when I was working getting to workout before or after work. Now that I’m home with adhd and no structure, it’s even harder.

I am in a weight loss study. My study doctor told me about a woman in a Mounjaro study who was taken off the drug after 36 weeks and CONTINUED to lose weight not knowing if she was off or not. The follow up to the study, she GAINED weight thinking she was off the drug even though she been off of it for 40 weeks. Placebo effect is so crazy!

Good luck dear one. Same boat. I had a bug and did NOTHING in August and gained TEN LBS in a month! OMG. I fired up the WW app and have lost 1.5 lbs just eating right and tracking every bloody morsel (PITB) but it’s working. I join you, and support you!! 👏👏👏💙💙💙

High protein/sugar free vanilla Greek yogurt mixed with a packet of sugar free cheese cake flavored instant pudding mix. Dump the packet into the whole big container and mix it up for the week. Then you can add different fruits, strawberries, cinnamon, granola, it all taste like cheese cake😋

I'm really excited to hear about your meeting with the nutritionist again today! I'm interested to see how she helps you work with you being a vegetarian. I have heard that increased protein can help with weight loss. I'm not sure how, but I'm giving it a try myself! I have lots more to lose than you, and I love your weekly updates!💙
ALSO!!! I keep tons of fruit on hand, and it really helps with the cravings I have for sweets! Adding cottage cheese is a favorite of mine, too! I know you're getting help from the nutritionist. I just wanted to share something that works for me!

So happy you’re still staying consistent with checking in! That’s admirable as most people wouldn’t be able to hold themselves accountable to that part!
I stand by the fact that once your trainer gets involved things will begin to change. I bet he’ll also give you a real meal plan.
I would definitely tell him that the issue isn’t needing ideas for workouts to do at home, it’s accountability. A solid workout plan that he checks in on daily and bmi reports that he does with you. Very involved until you can take flight yourself! 🎉 you got this Peter! 💪

It's great to hear you change your perspective about the nutritionist and decide to adopt an open mind. I love the fact she used the word "prepping" vs "cooking" which is really something you can do and currently do. I would recommend showing her some of your favorite food items from your go to order restaurants and ask her what additions or subtractions you should make to make it a better option. For example, adding 1 tablespoon of shelled pumpkin seeds to your salad adds a lot of health benefits. Just a simple modification to a food you love can be helpful. Another simple change is instead of pouring the salad dressing on the salad. Ask for it on the side then dip your fork in the salad dressing before you stab some salad. That can help decrease your sugar intake but still make the salad taste great. I make my salads small not because I am controlling portions but in reality I get bored eating it.😂 I size my salads for my attention span. Stick with it Peter bc if it was easy, everyone would do it. You can and you will do this! ❤

You sound like me. If I don’t have a go-to menu with the ingredients at the beginning of the week and snacks chosen and ready to go, I will eat anything. It’s hard but I know you can do it. You have done WAY harder stuff.
Do a little at a time. It’s like cleaning a house; go room by room. Pick one thing each week to try and change about your diet or exercise regimen. By the end of the year you may have implemented all of the changes you wanted to.

If I eat a ton of protein I won’t gain weight and I’ am one that gains fast. I can eat as much as I want as long as it’s protein and it’s so very important, i totally agree with them. Can’t change your health if your not gonna try. Even a little bit. I don’t get it. I have to have to eat my veggies, fruits and proteins or I feel drained

I'm at a stand still right now with my weight loss. I was doing so well walking 5 days a week but then last month I was sock with viral pneumonia for almost 3 weeks and couldn't walk. I'm finally getting my energy back slowly but still haven't started walking again. I'm hoping next Monday I can get myself back on the walking trail at the park i go to. Hang in there Peter!

    Peter,
You are the reason 3 years ago I went into recovery. I want to tell you that I have lost 180lbs AND my genetic high cholesterol is completely NORMAL now , no meds. I know my story is not everyone’s, but just wanted you to know it’s possible. 12 step saved my life. Xo T.

If the test your doctor is recommending is the coronary calcium scan, it’s super easy and fast. I just had one done and am so glad I did. It tells you if you have buildup in your arteries and gives you a score. I was in and out within 10 minutes.
Watching my dad go through a quadruple bypass about 10 years ago really made me pay attention to what I was eating. I never want to go through that. My food choices are still far from perfect but I’ve slowly gotten used to eating a lot more veggies, high protein tofu, nuts & seeds, basically one ingredient whole foods about 80% of the time. I also hate to cook so I’ve gotten used to raw tofu 😂
One day at a time, you can do it!

You are doing great whenever I get down I put the thought in my head that I did not gain this weight in a week or month you have maintained which is better than piling all the pounds on. I think this week is a win all the stress with Boo and you have not been able to walk you did great, keep on this journey. Love you too 💋💋💋 Boo and Alex. 💙💙💙🐶🐶🐶🐶🧢🧢🧢📖📖📖☕️☕️☕️🥤🥤🥤🐿️🐿️🐿️🥰🥰🥰📺📺📺🍿🍿🍿🧸🧸🧸😴😴😴🕯️🕯️🕯️🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈💋💋💋🎃🎃🎃💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Hi, as a non vegetarian I’ve been trying to eat 30 grams of protein at each meal, if you like cottage cheese it’s pretty high in protein mix in some blueberries ,I started rebounding about 6 weeks ago it’s a great workout especially for winter months,my next step is to do some kinda weights, it’s a journey I totally get it, your doing great 😀

Which rebounder do you use? I have been wondering about how that is, cuz on top of just being overweight……..I am extremely out of shape and I feel that could be a good starting point. Also, thanks for adding the comment about the cottage cheese.

I know you’re a food reviewer (love that channel), I just think it’s counter productive to have all that junk food even if you’re giving some of it away around the house. I personally would stick to one item a week instead of several. Just a thought, don’t come for me.

  • @lojoinpoho
    @lojoinpoho Місяць тому +1

I love you, but it’s funny to me how you say to yourself “what is going?!” on about your weight gain, when all of us watch you do food reviews one after the other, and hear you talk about the things that you eat. Anything that you put in your mouth like that is going to make a negative difference. You simply just can’t do that.
It’s a really difficult thing for people to understand, but you cannot eat junk every week and lose weight. Most of us struggle. Good luck.
