Trolling The Tube & Worm Over A Big School Of Striped Bass!

- While kayak fishing, using the tube and worm is one of the most effective ways to catch big stripers. I ran into a pile of big fish and had a lot of hookups, thank you for watching!

dude there is nothing ever wrong with the old tube and worm strategy especially if you can catch such large stripers. its perfect for a kayak really... see you out there...
absolutely the tube gets some hate but it catches big bass consistently
Bluefish yay haha the excitement. Good old tube trolling never dissappoints
lol hate those things especially on the kayak
Nice video! Your fish finder blows up when you are fighting a fish because the other fish are attracted by the commotion and want to get in on the action.
Classic Johnny video. Great.
You catch more fish in an outing than most of us do in a week.
Awesome. Nice vid.
thanks man! I got lucky and found a stack of fish that were chewing
Man those are some nice striped bass. Very fun watch.
Pretty good day of fishing, I'd say. Good video.
🔥🔥 Awesome day Jonny 🤙
Way to go Bravo...
Great video
We hammered bass between 18 and 45 pounds down here in NJ on pencil poppers until recently. Should be headed your way now
We can’t attach bait to them in Maine unless it has a circle hook.
Regs allow it bro. It’s right in the regs, specifically calls out the requirements to follow for tubes. I’m in Maine too.
great video man!!!! should try a gopro wrist remote to get video rolling quick!!!
Awesome video, question are you trolling with them or are you letting them sit toward the bottom?
Boat fish DON’T Count!! #4life 🤙✌️🔥😂
toooob.. lol.. nice work
My plan for tomorrow. Providence river
Caught a decent while night fishing in bissel cove
Awesome video! I’ve been looking for a UA-cam video of kayak trolling the tube and worm 🪱 I’m planning to try this out next month in MV. What type line and leader were you using if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks!
What size line sir awesome video thanks new subscriber here
Hey Jonny, just wondering what spots you fish in Rhode Island. Looking for new trolling spots (mine don’t work) and am looking for inspiration. Thanks!
Do you rig it with a leader and clip or do you use a swivel type clip to allow for rotation ? Thanks Great video
Are you using any weight?
Do tubes work for all stripers in all lakes?
Hey Jonny, silly question, but can you use this bank fishing cast & retrieve? Also, live sand worms only or can you use live nightcrawlers, bloodworms at the hook of the tube? Thanks Man! GREAT STRIPED BASS ACTION!! 🤙
I have actually heard of guys "trolling" horizontally along the rocks but have never tired. Live sand worms are best but the artificial gulp worms work too
@@Fish-RI Thanks for the response! Be safe out there! 🤙
I typically only fish the tube and worm down to about 15 feet Because anything deeper than that no matter how slow I troll I cannot get it near the bottom. You mentioned you fish yours up to 30 feet and deeper, do you use a keel weight or A tube with the weight in it already? That’s the only way I can see you fishing it near the bottom in that kind of depth
I use the hogy tubes which already have weight built in
How do you get the tube down to depth with no weight?
this tube is weighted it is from Hogy
Hogy is the best!! Hogy and Yo Zuri is all I use, minus the customs I make.
Hi Jonny what happens with the blues I been fishing in Rhode Island and I can’t find them
a lot of bluefish in they bays, but the stripers are also chewing there too
@@Fish-RI I can’t thank you enough for answering my question. I’m going to keep trying
Love the content but you don't keep any of the slot stripers? Don't like the taste or have too many of them in the freezer already?
I usually don't keep bass unless they are gut hooked. seabass, tog and fluke I'll keep all day long
I been wanting to try the tube and worm method. I finally purchased 2 Hogy tubes and plan on giving it a try. Do you add any weight to it or just drop it back with no added weight? I think I heard you mention in a different video you use 50lb leader also Tight lines...Thanks for the vids
I usually use the hogy tubes with the weights built in, no extra weight. I give it about 15-20 seconds of line depending how deep the water is. Most of my leaders are 40-50 pound flouro
Thanks man I appreciate the feed back!! 🎣🎣
Which model is that okuma rod? Looks sweet
SRT Inshore Elite, awesome rod for the yak
Do you use any weight to get that into deeper water?
I use the Hogy tubes and they have weigh built into it. But for deep water over 50 feet you would want lead core line
Hi Jonny..just wondering how far back from the kayak do you set the tube when you trol? just bought a native slayer and have lots of questions ..Thanks ..
usually about 15-20 seconds worth of braid when using a weighted hogy tube
@@Fish-RI thanks for the info ..Been watching you for a while ..great videos ..keep em coming ..
👌🏻
Is that the 10ft kayak?
13 foot, old town bigwater
I use a 132 also. Made a motor pod that fits in the pdl I get 20 miles all day. Check out my vids it’s a 1000x better then pdl setup
What power is the rod?
medium heavy perfect for the yak
@@Fish-RI thanks!
Looks like a great rod , I want to throw bigger plugs like 1oz. From bank fishing reservoirs. Price is great too
That rod looks like a freshwater rod just saying
So effective for big bass from the kayak it's hard to do anything else sometimes. Great video! this is the bump board I use. ketchproducts.com/products/48-folding-board
