Greetings to Denmark from Scotland! I am very old (well not that old!), when I was a child the wonderful tramway system in Glasgow, where I lived at the time, was closed. The wonderful trams were taken to waste ground, their upper decks removed, petrol was poured over them, and they were burned. It was terrible. I suppose some scrap was salvaged, but no much. Happily, because Glasgow was one of the last cities in UK to scrap trams, Quite a lot of them were sent to museums all over the world. Now, of course, many cities in the UK have brought the trams back!!
Enjoying the videos. Why is there something fascinating about scrapping buses etc.? My compliments to the excavator operator - he is a master of his skill....
    More please!!

This were one of the best Buses ever operated by Movia. This were my childhood bus back then and now It is just memories. But we have to welcome the new electric Buses so we can make out World a Better place.

Other companies would be happy about such modern buses. Instead, you scrap them. In Austria, buses from 2005 or even older are sold to the East if they are still technically in order. 13 years is simply too young for buses that are in good condition to scrap them.

Buses in Scandinavia do get a lot more use than in other countries, so their lifetime is shorter. By the time these buses are 10-12 years old, they will have already travelled around 2 million km, so they are only fit for scrap.
Another issue has to do with keeping up with ever-tightening emissions regulations and contractual obligations re reducing emissions and running costs. Electric buses will have a longer life than diesels because of this.

How did you get that close? Did you bring the bus to the scapper? Or do you work there?
