One thing I’ve been unable to do is manipulate the color saturation or contrast settings in any of the preset video modes for the Xgimi. Other than custom, is there any ability to “tweak” the presets a bit to make them more agreeable?
While I enjoyed the videos, I am hopeful that you didn't leave keystone correction on during your testing as this would decrease available resolution as well as brightness for both models. Likewise, I'm in agreement, that some basic calibration of any projector should be done by all owners, but most definitely for someone who is doing a review. Even if it is a basic Spears and Munsil disc and not a full Spider calibration. I understand you may not get hundreds of thousands of views on this, but a basic head-to-head without calibration and without any readings of light output or any readings of noise levels or any non-subjective measurements is pretty weak, especially since your projector reviews tend to get more views than some other videos AND considering you've been putting out projector reviews for over four years now. Get a light meter for goodness sake! Also a Leo Bodnar lag time meter. Consider a Spider. As well, video games being a major factor in today's space, it is important to do some measurements of lag time on projectors whenever possible. Still, nice to see them side by side and to get an idea of how much more light lasers will typically put out over LEDs. It is worth adding the XGimi tends to overstate their levels by a fair bit, and I would bet with a light meter you could easily show how much more light the Nebula is putting out with a simple measurement. It would also give a good basis to compare it to a standard lamp-based projector like the BenQ 3550.
One thing you didn't compare side-by-side which would have been interesting (maybe another vid idea?) is gaming performance. I've got the Horizon Pro and in game mode (the other modes are too laggy), it's really superb. I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 on an 80 inch screen and it's been flawless for me, but how is the Nebula's performance there? :)
@@Jake-ym7tv thanks for reply, I can see there is only one HDMI! Is that in or out ? The idea is to connect the projector to my Bose sound bar, will it give out sound ?
That XGIMI looks to be a TCL product based on the remote when comparing tcl rebadged tvs from India which have the same remote as the XGIMI project your showing here.. I forgot the name of the India tcl tv brand is like IFFALCON I’m pretty sure.. they don’t really try to hide the tcl name as it’s on the screen sticker and on the google tv apps “tcl channels’ so,e of them have the same exact remote as this projector so I wonder if it’s TCL behind them.. TCL is massive now .. supplying Samsung and others with lcd panels as well as mini led systems which is strange since Samsung display R$D’d the technology and then failed to see its value for some reason and tcl got its hands on it and now it’s like Samsung is tryin to use it .. Samsung also just closed down its lcd panel factories and will just continue to outcourse panels for BOE and TCL as well as 1 other company that starts with a A.. anyways I think TCL goes under other names to try out tech before they put their official name behind it and as far as India iffalcon TVs I think the offload worse DSE panels into even more budget friendly tcl TVs
I went from 130" projection for 8 years to OLED two years ago because of the far superior picture quality (especially the blacks when watching a lot of sci-fi), but I still miss the immersion and cinema feeling you get from the cheer size, especially when watching with multiple people where I can’t move right in front of the TV 😂. But I can’t take the 77“ TV with me to the in-laws house for the weekend, so getting back into the projector game for that with the Nebula will be great, already tested the waters with the much less powerful but super portable Nebula Solar. Both have their merits, OLED looks gorgeous especially with HDR content.

Yes, I'm a xgimi owner. It's very easy to adjust color accurancy. And I enjoy it a lot.
It would also give a good basis to compare it to a standard lamp-based projector like the BenQ 3550.
hello can you add a soundbar to the nebula with only one hdmi? does it have hdmi arc
The Nebula does support ARC through the HDMI port thankfully
awsome thanks
The Nebula looks much better.
nebula make the handle retractable
One thing you didn't compare side-by-side which would have been interesting (maybe another vid idea?) is gaming performance.
I've got the Horizon Pro and in game mode (the other modes are too laggy), it's really superb. I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 on an 80 inch screen and it's been flawless for me, but how is the Nebula's performance there? :)
My screen wasn’t big enough as both say screen size from 60” up. Game mode not ready on the nebula yet.
@@allthingstech Maybe one for a future video then! :)
Does nebula have HDMI ARC ?
Yes
@@Jake-ym7tv thanks for reply,
I can see there is only one HDMI!
Is that in or out ?
The idea is to connect the projector to my Bose sound bar, will it give out sound ?
at 2:55 you can see the keystone shadow.. that's really anoying to me.. most apparent in a dark room
Closer inspection both remotes from both projectors look tcl’ish
Thanks.
I would purchase the Nebula , but then again I perfer LG OLED TV's :)
OLED still a tv, it can't compare to immersive feeling on a projector. Get both if you can afford!😆
