  • Goofing around to see when my printer will give up the ghost.
    700mms external, internal, 500 infill, 50K acceleration, 40 square corner. Cube section was in min layer time, so slowed down to 300.
    ABS, 295C. 1st layer 200 external, 300 internal, goofed up and had gap fill at 75. Flow is too high and I have issues with retraction in corners. Probably just too fast? Hell no, gonna see what makes it tick or give up. Some VFA or ring on the top. Chube heavier, so over my limit? Might be in that motor resonance range.. probably what it is? Let's see..
    Slow it down and it's cake.

    Prints something 100x faster than any of my printers can go and looking nicer than any of my medium speed prints and says its not very good😂. Props to you man thats some impressive speed and quality

    Little bit of ghosting on one side, but not too bad for how hast it print... Have you setup a high speed camera to view it in slow motion? I was able to find some issues with my printer by setting up my iphone in slow motion recording to see my gantry twisting a little bit in one direction. it twisted just enough where the nozzle was almost hopping as it turned the corner.

    If you are looking for more quality in the corners, have you tried setting square_corner_velocity back to the default of 5? and has that helped? Very cool and impressive cross gantry printer btw. one day bros, one day.

      I have issue at 5 or 50. What it seems to do is hide more the artifact at low SCV, so have to look harder to find it.

    how are you able to get such a fast first layer without losing adhesion?

    • @MrRocksalt
      @MrRocksalt  Місяць тому +1

      It's a combination of enough heat and dressing the build plate. I sand mine with 150 grit to put some scratches. If you want ultra shiny bottom, then don't sand, but I find that adhesion is not near as good. You can also add some glue stick. It lasts awhile and works also. But still not as good as dressing the plate.

    you could reduce acc on outer perimeter, a tiny bit ....

      I don't have issue with line quality, it's the corners, and I get this issue fast or slow. I can make it better with lower PA, but then the corners bulge. Something is not right here and I will try to find it.

      It's hard to tell what is wrong with the print when view on my phone. Maybe a little more descriptive review of the problem time?

      @@iagmr Corner artifacts. Don't matter the speed, some form or another is there. More so on corners with retraction, but same type effect as other corners, just not as bad. Still playing with it to see what I can do.

      @@MrRocksalt I had something similar for weeks.. While swapping nozzle and doing some maintenance/cleaning on the toolhead it was suddenly fixed... I have no idea what the issue was...
