    Just to be clear - in the comparison I compared Rise Rajang to high rank GU Rajang.
    So please stop saying that I am comparing G Rank Rajang to High Rank. That is not what I'm doing. I deliberately did not compare him with Iceborne Rajang for a reason, and said he was too extreme for high rank.

    The issue with Iceborne Rajang wasn't his animation speed, it was the openings. You had very few openings and you had to rely on dodges 90% of the fight if you wanted it to be over anytime soon . He would just chain together attack after attack and very rarely you would see a spin move or a kamehameha , that gave you a little window to smash. Rise Rajang has too many openings after attacks. If you take away the "pause" after half of his attacks, he becomes more dangerous. Altering the speed of his "telegraph" a little bit will also help, but not too much . We will not be able to tell what he is about to do otherwise.

    • @bigmoe9856

      Counter-Argument, Iceborne just has poor hitzones. Old Rajang had great hitzones, Rajang was a complete Glass Cannon that cracked when you understood the fight.
      Iceborne's Rajang, while incredibly fast and leaving few openings, is still dealing with highly mobile hunters that can get some hits in even if you have to take the fight slower. Issue here is that your dmg is incredibly nerfed unless you're hiting the correct weakspot...and tenderizing it before hand.
      The *lack of openings* are kind of what people should expect when going into a Rajang fight in WorldBorne because Rajang's existence is meant to counter the hunters of the respective game. So having him just astro dunk my life out of my body was a rather cathartic experience. Then after you're done figuring out whatever the hell that was that just happened to you you get back into it. Maybe triple a few more times before you bend him over your knee and start putting him on farm.

    @Heavy Wings
    Keep in mind, most iterations of Rajang that actually have difficulty are usually in G-Rank/Master Rank.. HR Rajang has only ever been difficult to players who have never seen him before or who are new to the franchise as a whole.
    But it's also unfair to compare World's Rajang to Rise's since both are entirely a different level of difficulty. Rajang in World is locked to Master/G-rank, and Rise's Rajang is only High Rank.
    The Super Rajang in one of Rise's event quests was a nice addition to show us what we might encounter later in Sunbreak, but I doubt that it'll be all Rajang gets. With how popular and iconic a monster he is, he'll probably not only receive a Master rank version in Sunbreak, but an Apex and Super Apex version as well.
    Also keep in mind that players who have fought him in past games are always going to say he's easier here because 1. Rise is the easiest title with high mobility options and Wyvern riding, and 2. Experience in past titles equates to difficulty in future titles being lessened (The better you got in past titles, carries over to future, so everything seems easier.)

    Yeah, I truly think Rise Rajang is a tad too slow, even slower than in the older games I feel. He has alot more pauses before or after attacks (for example why did they make it pause after doing the rushing punches attack?) and didn't actually add any new moves (unlike most other monsters who are given 1-2 new moves to shake things up). Rise Rajang simply doesn't have the moveset to counter the wirebugs.
    I hope they mostly just buff his attack speed in Sunbreak because despite my earlier gripes, some of his attacks are actually pretty dangerous in Rise. For one they now made him track the hunter during the rushing punches attack, which is great. His beam attack is also a lot bigger, making it easier to catch players which is also great. He also can combo straight from ground pound to the triple pound attack unlike IB Rajang who always pauses after those. Those are examples of some of the better changes to his moveset in my opinion. All he needs to make it better is a speed buff.

    It's likely just cause he's high rank with less aggressive tuning. Through I think it'd be a great idea to add a spin similiar to mitty's water gun that pushes rajang around so he gets a full sweeping arc, as well as keep his current beam but give it some tracking.
    >_> speaking of improvements hope they add deviljho but give him the ability to drag a player with him to the next area.

    At last someone says what I thought since RISE came out. Everytime I said that "Rajang in RISE is too easy I'm really disaapoint". Many will quickly counter that "It's just a high rank Rajang, that's why it's easy!" or "Iceborne is master rank, it's not the same!" But when I ask them "Then why Tobi and Jyura are stronger than in WorldBourne when in RISE they are just high rank?" they won't answer me.
    Everything you said is on point and I hope Rajang will have move to counter wirebug like you said. Grab hunter in midair when they wirebug in or have a move that wll immediately hit as soon as hunter try to wirefall out of knockdown. That will be a challenge.

      I've been trying to figure out why a lot of fights feel "samey" in rise, and I think it's because there is little to no punishment for the player when they get knocked down on the floor after an attack, we always wirefall out of any danger.
      You are correct though, this is the least I've been afraid of rajang since.....4u? (Edit) even in high rank too!
      For Jyura and tobi, I think it's just players weapon choice, for me tobi is a bit harder cause I use a slow moving weapon against a fast monster. So it might skew the monsters true difficulty

    HH player since 3U. Honestly the complaints about the Rise horn are valid however, personally I am SO GLAD getting notes off is Automatic in Rise. HH is all about getting in there and doing blunt weapon damage along side the buffs and in Grank especially in older titles you saw HUGE drops in HH usage due to few issues with Iframes not kicking in until half way through your melodies leaving you open and easily knocked out of or flinched out of your combos, hence why you started seeing corner horners in World in M/G rank. Not everyone playing the weapon had the reflexes to do melodies without getting knocked around or carted getting off their notes. HH in Rise plays similar to one of the styles in GU which isn't a bad thing. All it needs is some mixture in the note combos and that's kinda easy to fix. The director of Rise plays HH and wanted more people to use the weapon and he succeeded - it just needs some fine tuning to make it not a alternative hammer.

  • @JikuAraiguma
    @JikuAraiguma 2 роки тому

    I mained HH exclusively in both World (post IB) and Rise, and always viewed it as a longer hammer that just happens to give buffs. It was an adjustment to be sure. After getting my hands on the horn in the Rise demo, I came away feeling like it wasn't the same weapon.
    In world, there was something of an art to tailoring your stance and combos not to each monster, but to each horn, then finding the right window and placement to recital, and then of course keeping track of monster KO build-up for the good old fashioned Slap.
    I initially thought that the Rise horn was a dumbed-down version of the horn for little timmy to play.
    I've since come around to the idea of the new horn, as it goes into my preferred aggressive playstyle for horn anyways. The new horn feels weirdly more interactive. I find myself paying more attention to the monster than to the songs I'm playing. I don't think I'll be able to adjust if I ever go back to World. The Earthshaker and slide are too integral to how I play now. I have this one clip of a fight against Rakna Kadaki, I feel like it showcases what I'm talking about.

    I've seen many people complain about monsters (especially Rajang) in iceborne being too fast and BS, which is true until you learn them (then it becomes fun, and then you can relearn them with every weapon as well). It seems like they listened to those complaints with the oversight that they were speeding us up in rise. If they would have kept rajang the same in rise he would have been easier by default but still would have kept him tough. I've only played world/iceborne though so I don't hold much grounds for this but I do have over 650 hours and counting into it. I don't really like nerfs so I'd prefer buffs, if they are going to have us be quicker then they need to do the same for monsters. Fatalis wouldn't have his reputation quite as high if we had rise mechanics against iceborne version of him.

    I disagree that he was ruined in rise.
    Yes he is slightly slower than his older iterations, but, that’s about it. High Rank Rajang was never really a threat. I like Rise rajang for the simple fact he teaches you how to play rise more than any other monster. Unlike most other monsters, he is one of the most aggressive and hard hitting. Yea hes slow but he is almost always on the attack unless he is exhausted. If you get caught Burning wirebugs too much, you die. Similar to magnamalo, fighting these two monsters while all wirebugs are on cooldown is a nightmare. In older games, high rank rajang attacks came out slightly faster but i don’t recall him being nearly as aggressive as his rise iteration.
    Iceborne rajang was good but flawed. Furious rajang required you to stick to his head, but he also had instantaneous fury punches??. Also clutch claw is a big issue with world that honestly is more op than wirebugs AND wyvern riding imo.
    Im certain G rank Rise Rajang with be a great fight.

    • @stephenjohn2131
      @stephenjohn2131 2 роки тому +1

      You clearly haven't played Rise if you think that "Rise Rajang is one of the most aggressive and is almost always on attacks", that is wrong as not only is Rise Rajang slow but also he pauses way too much after many of his attacks, lastly all of his attacks are telegraphed, you can react to them fairly easy either by ridiculously over powered silkbinds or by using one level of evade extender which is another broken skill alongside everything that is in Rise. Despite everything that is slowing him down and working against Jang, if he somehow managed to hit you just once either because you were greedy or unaware, that's not a problem because wirefalls are broken AF. With almost no downtime on them at that, it's fight is butchered and gutted to make it easier for the new fans, you are delusional if you think otherwise, you can have an opinion, but don't act as if you are telling facts while sharing them.
      Now you also compared silkbinds/wirefalls to Clutch claw i see, saying that it's more broken than silkbinds....
      Do you realize how comparisons are made, or do you just keep on putting words until they become a sentence regardless of whether they make sense or not, that or again you haven't played MHWI.
      Clutch claw was a massive nerf to weakness exploit which added a unnecessary chore. All of the monsters hitboxes take less damage unless you are tenderizing them. That's not broken, that's just BS chore added on the hunts which is hated by almost everyone by the community.
      The right comparison towards the silkbinds would be the retarded temporal mantles. Which were OP but always had a timer, in which case Rise mobility, silkbinds and wirefalls take the cake because the gameplay of Rise is developed by taking those said tools in mind. There's not a single scenario where you are forced to use mantles in MHWI unless you wanted to go through the air lift shortcut in Coral high lands. As a matter of fact you could just not equip them, whereas in Rise the tools i mentioned are mapped to your controls. I hope that SunBreak expansion tune down the wirebugs a little now that the newer audience has played base Rise and have learned. But that's guaranteed that SunBreak will increase difficulty as is the tradition.

    • @loonieboy9697
      @loonieboy9697 2 роки тому

      @@stephenjohn2131 I was only stating my opinion regarding Rajang in Rise.
      in rise, before the emergency quests, yes, Rajang WAS one of the most aggressive monsters in the game outside of Apex's. And while more experienced players will find his gaps long, it was short when compared to the rest of the large monsters in the game. If you know how to deal with rajang, he is easy and if not, he destroys you. This is how he was in every low rank iteration of the monster. You also missed the point where I said that fighting Rajang (as well as Magnamalo) is a nightmare with wirebug actions on COOLDOWN. If an unexperienced player does not manage wirebug action usage properly against him, they will be in huge trouble, especially if rajang is enraged or not exhausted. Wirefall, at start, has a cooldown of about 13-15 seconds (I don't recall the exact number), but that is enough times for rajang to squeeze out about 3-4 attacks, depending on which ones he uses ofcourse. If you get hit at this time, you are going to have a bad time. Like I said in the previous comment, he teaches you how to play rise better, by punishing you if you don't use them smarter, just like magnamalo. Im sure he will be a bigger threat in SB, so until then, we will just have to wait.
      Also, I believe Clutch Claw ruins World, that is just my opinion. I don't like how much power it gives the hunter over the monster (wallbang loops, force enrage, etc) as well as how tedious it is to use in general, especially since you are basically FORCED to use it since monsters almost always need to be tenderized. Of course some people like this mechanic and some don't, same with wirebug.
      This is how I feel about Rise Rajang and clutchclaw, not saying you HAVE TO agree, that's how opinions work. But if you are going to speak your opinion here in UA-cam comments, there's no need to come off as a condensating ass.

    The boulder attack from gu and 4u (the one where he goes to a part of the arena, grabs a boulder or other large objekt and throws it at the hunter) its genuenly one of the most impressive moves performed by any monster and it could be expandet upon when considering the speed of the hunter and the wirebugs (also the giant apex rajang boulder could be brought back if furious rajang reappears, you know the one where he throws half of the arena at you).

      @@Doc_Fun I can see what you’re saying but I liked it from my perspective because of how the popular GS meta was at the time. Generally speaking you’d go for conservative charged attacks because you didn’t have tackle options. The frenzy virus forced you play more aggressively or be penalized, making hunts riskier for my normally safe style of play. The deflecting definitely could have used tuning for the apexes themselves to be a bit more fair. Obviously the experience will be different depending on what weapons you like the most. As a mainly solo GS it was a great mechanic since the monster was concentrating on you, making it easier to to turn frenzy into an advantage by understanding the monster’s patterns

    Very true. I adore Iceborne's monsters precisely because they're faster and give me more challenge to overcome. Rajang especially was a tough fight for my HBG skills because he couldn't be knocked down and kept punishing over and over and over. It was a millimetric fight which I love and still repeat a couple times a month even to this way.
    If all monsters in World were to the standard of Furious Rajang, then that would be a perfect game.
    Rise in particular just seems like they tuned it down for consoles who can't really respond that quickly. The quad-pound openings are telegraphed longer than Great Jagras, and you could simply Attack on Titan out of the way at any point in time if you were threatened. If anything I'd hoped that with Rise's ridiculous focus on mobility the monsters would be much faster and tracker better, but instead I'm able to keep dodging to his side and rear almost constantly.
    This isn't as much a Rajang issue as it is a 'version' issue. World also incorporated many next-generation concepts which Rise doesn't, such as monster idle behavior, faster dynamic attacks (Silver/Gold and Furious in particular) and just making the world feel alive.

It would have been nice to see something like a chameleos lashing out with his tongue as the hunter uses a wirebug, slapping them and eating the bug.

      Rakna Kadaki has several attacks where it pulls itself around by its silk threads, and you can actually cut the thread and cancel the attack if you hit it just right. It'd be really cool if they gave some new monster in Sunbreak an ability like that where it constantly cuts your wirebug threads and cancels your moves.

      @@IndianaJones84476352 Yeah I had a thought along those lines to for a general interaction when I saw that happen to her the first time. There are a few good ones that would just make sense. I would love it if a Rajang had the ability to grab the bug out of the air while you were dashing around, then proceeded to ragdoll you about before tossing you across the arena. Maybe limit it to when he's full on raging so he doesn't completely negate your WB usage but there is a window of time where you can learn not to use it and have to adapt and fight in a more 'traditional' manner.
      I like the idea of having a bit more mobility in MH games going forward. I don't see the wirebugs returning in the next game, but with the success of world and rise both having these mechanics, you can pretty much guarantee the next game will as well. I just want to see the monsters evolve alongside the hunters.

    I remember in mhwi I was at first excited to fight him, and then he ended up absolutely kicking my ass. When I fought him in Rise, I felt a lot better about facing him. Basically like he's a preparation. He's now one of my favorite monsters to fight.

    the problem with monsters being easier isn't the dumbing down of the monsters alone. we are able to equip so many skills that makes the player able to be an unstoppable powerhouse. Wirebugs only help make things easier. Having 10 skills maxed out makes the game much easier.

    Here js my own take for the rajang in rise is because alot of newcomer probably since its the portable team they already have prepared the mhgu rajang and tone it down a bit for high rank.
    And my theory is they probably put the iceborne rajang in sunbreak expansion that can put up with wirebug skill mobility.
    I couldn't much solo rajang in previous game before world but in rise with wirebug mobility it's quite easier now.
    The portable dev team aim to have more the fun side of the game making the challenging aspect second.

    Sounds nitpicky but my issue with Rajang in Rise is how its nuances in Turf Wars changed. Before, it only entered its empowered state when pitted against opponents that can fight it evenly, like Jho and the elder dragons, or after consuming a Kirin horn. It didn't bother powering up against weaker foes like the Raths and other flyers because it doesn't need to. But now it does, and it just feels odd after Iceborne, knowing the lengths it goes to to get a boost in power, that it would expend that energy against wimps like Pukei.

    With that closing note i wanna say funny enough i became a hh main in rise when in comparison to my mhw guild card i have 100+ hunts (900+gs) with every other wep n only a hand full of hh kills, to then go from barely using it in mhw n gu to it being my main in rise shows they did somthing right for new players to the wep

    Rise Rajang was the first Rajang I hunted, having never gotten that high in other MH Games. I would videos with him all the time though and I was so mad he didn’t completely trash me the first time because when I realized he was an invader I had a full on heart attack and scared my friend, who had never even heard of Rajang before (Rise was the first MH Game he reached high ranked for and unlike me he didn’t consistently watch MH videos and play throughs of other games) because there was a high ranked monster just sitting there
