@@dorothycraft2173I’m wondering about that too. But I have no familiarity with outhouses. Did they need to be cleaned out? Was stuff thrown away regularly or all at once when someone left the property? How deep were outhouses? I guess I need to Google that and go down that rabbit hole.🕳️ 😂

Love your digs and seeing what treasures you find. Please make a video about how you got into this hobby/career, how did you learn about bottles and bottling companies, what do you do with all those items you dig up, do you clean them yourself, are there collectors and buyers, have you ever been injured down in the pit, how is your back, have you ever found a dead body or something suspicious, are there other places in the US or abroad that you'd like to excavate, what items in particular that you've found are the most valuable, do you edit your own videos or do you pay someone to, do you ever do live videos and answer questions, etc. Inquiring minds want to know these things!

I was born in the 50s, we dug a burn pit every year , in to it went all the garbage . We burned once a month . 1 year we dug up an older burn pit and found all kinds of neat bottles , jars, and stuff like that . All our neibours came over and looked at what my dad didn't keep. Figured it was from the mid 1800s all the stuff not taken was put back in the pit. Today there's a big car lot building on top of our burn pits. Lol just wanted to thank you first time I've thought about it in years was always a fun day digging our new pit , me and dad. Thanks

(hand hone boards, hand made bricks and nails) We decided to install a pool and dug up our back yard, We found a ton of old bottles and jars, plates and bowls! It was so much fun! When I was a kid living outside Charlottesville, Va out past Monticello and Ash Lawn back in the 70's early 80's our landlord had over 400 acres and there had been a lot of old houses on the property he tore down. My brother and I used to sit on the big flat rock in our front yard at night in the summertime with the flood light on gluing old plates, coffee cups, serving platters etc. back together from this same time period. Tons of killer old bottles. Found a flat chrome Art Deco Klaxon horn in the dirt sparked a 6 volt battery across it and still got a sad old honk out of it.

When I was a kid there was a site on our farm where an old lady had lived alone for years in the early nineteen hundreds. She made borders for her flower beds with dozens of embossed bottles she found, buried half in the ground. We found some beautiful bottles and jars, no digging involved. I envy you being able to stick a probe into the ground- American dirt must be a lot softer than Australian dirt :)
