I always wondered wether tiger barbs ate meat or scraps on bone, ie chicken etc. I love the way you ve set your tank up, looks beautiful & the okecis wtc have plenty if hiding spaces. I never see my okeco either, ive a baby & he s not shy is out during the day like the last two weee as babies i lost one? Looked as healthy as could have been so dont no why he died , i now have the ine whose about 2 half yes old , he has a specific hiding okace in a rock , i can see him but hes happy to blend in their, although i do see him at. Night when i put the tank light down to blue
THank you. My filter...honestly is as old as my 20 year old daughter. lol. It is a basic whisper filter and that's all. I rinse out the cartridges maybe once every two months. hey are as old as my daughter as well. It goes to show that new cartridges aren't always necessary. :)
Awesome! Yes! But ONLY if you start them off eating this way. If you feed them pellets and flakes in the beginning...that's what they will want from then on
You could do about 20 tiger barbs and for a centerpiece maybe a couple geos or couple multispinosa rainbow cichlids or even a pair of or Honduran red points plus a couple BN plecos and that would be a beautiful tank
i had 12 in a 29 gallon and they were thriving and getting fat. if you get a 20 long instead of a tall you should be able to keep a dozen easy. just make sure you get at least 8 or so since these guys need to spread their aggression over a group.
Can you feed Tiger barbs sardines in a can? or Tuna in a Can? As a Treat? Looked all over the internet can't find this information. Would love to see a video on all the food that you can actually give as a TREAT for Tiger barbs. And what foods to NOT give them.
@@get_moneyy6612 When I bought them they were small. I gave them flakes then waited a couple of days. Took a small piece of ham and they would nibble on it. I graduated them into it basically
Why are you feeding them lunch meat? They definitely don't eat this in the wild...not to mention the fact that your Mangano is a vegetarian with very short intestines and by no means should be eating that much protein. Also, mixing cichlids from different areas is a horrible idea because they require different water parameters and diet. I'm sure the tiger barbs don't appreciate the texas holey rock because it raises the PH to close to 8.2 and they prefer slightly acidic. This video is a perfect example of what NOT to do and what a selfish fish keeper looks like. Your fish are surviving not thriving.
I agree with not feeding fish lunch meat. Just wanted to mention that the maingano is certainly not a herbivore and pH can be adjusted properly even with the rock, or anything that naturally alters pH.
I have always fed ham and turkey as a treat all the years I've owned tiger barbs. They've all lived long lives... never an issue. But mainly they get vegetable pellets and flakes, brine, blood worms etc. This is only a treat
Why does he have to be selfish...lets say you know something he didn't. Is that the way to communicate. I swear...fish hobbyist are the worst. All you had to do was present the info in a helpful manner ...assuming Thats what you were trying to do. Its a WONDERFUL tank.
Just got myself 50 Tiger barbs yesterday. They’re still small. Look great in my 110 Gallon tank. Super interesting fish, lots of personality
Holy crap! THat's awesome!! Congrats! Make a video on them!

Tiger barbs are like the coolest underrated fish ever
YOu better believe it!
It killed all my fish.......when i was once a fish beginner keeper

Hey I’m planning on keeping a 55 gallon tiger barbs tank with maybe some centrepiece fish. What do you suggest?
You could do about 20 tiger barbs and for a centerpiece maybe a couple geos or couple multispinosa rainbow cichlids or even a pair of or Honduran red points plus a couple BN plecos and that would be a beautiful tank
Im a sucker for catfish. feather fins, gold nugget plecos...

What is the blue cichlid?
He has a fancy name. I know them as electric blue
It looks like it might be an electric blue johanni, but I can't be sure
Should be eating blood worms, beine shrimp and flakes. Hope they stay healthy.
That doesn't look like a red texas cichlid it looks like a Robertsoni.
the big black fishes at the bottom are very unsocial.
Very nice tank but that lunch meat isn't good for them.
like small piranha
bro can i put tiger barb with mollies?
I have. As long as the tank is good size for all
