  • Daniel Garcia was signed to AEW in 2021 but he actually had made his AEW debut on an episode of AEW Dark during the pandemic in 2020, the matches on this show were filmed before and after tapings of AEW Dynamite.
The first major storyline Garcia would be involved in would be with the Jericho Appreciation Society along with Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Jake Hagar and of course, Jericho.
It’s been said many times that Jericho storylines got NO ONE over, but one could easily argue that this is in-fact the exact storyline that helped Garcia evolve into the character that he is today.
It was here that Bryan Danielson would attempt to recruit Garcia to the Blackpool Combat Club and embrace his technical wrestling side, but instead Garcia would insist that he was a sports entertainer and remain loyal to Jericho for what seemed like an eternity.
Garcia would start wearing flashier ring gear and incorporated his iconic dance into his character.

I like how you do these videos. You let the interviews tell the stories you need them to and you don't stop every 3 seconds to add your opinion and when you add your opinion isn't completely unwarranted. Good work fine sir.

@brettb7221 thanks for noticing! It feels weird to take a backseat in my own video, but that is what a documentary should be, I'm only jumping in to tie things together and say a bit at the end, it's the wrestlers story so if I can get them to say it I'm always going to use that if possible! :)

At the time, I thought it was a mistake for garcia to choose jericho over bcc, but boy am I glad i was wrong. He has been very entertaining

I got to see him wrestle a couple of times when he was just a teenager for SMASH Wrestling in Toronto. Even then it was easy to see his potential. I never fully understood the gimmick but the kid can work.

Garcia is growing up in AEW but WWE would never have given him the chance. 😅

Daniel Garcia doesn't do anything for me. Still don't get the push he gets. But not everyone is for everybody.

i was a pretty big fan of garcia before he joined up with jericho. he was the perfect underdog. just some scrawny kid fighting the big boys, but he had a ton of heart, never gave up, and had skill in the ring. then the "wrestler or sports entertainer" storyline started....and i hated it. now his whole personality revolves around that stupid dance...and i hate it. i wish he would just drop the gimmicks so i can cheer for him again. bring back the red death!
