The Smokies - Mt. Cammerer, Tri-Corner Knob, & Davenport Gap Shelter on AT - June 2023 - Day 6 & 7

Join us as we visit Mt. Cammerer, and see the beautiful view at the top of the tower. On the last two days of our adventure we stay at Tri-Corner Knob and then at Davenport Gap Shelter, the last shelter at the northern end of the Smokies on the Appalachian Trail! Lastly, watch how we make our way back to Standing Bear Hostel on foot!

Spent the night in that tower during college Thanksgiving break in November, 1980. It was abandoned but in pristine shape. We saw it by accident from the AT and we’re not going to make it to the shelter. You can look down at night to the lights of gatlinburg. Still have photos. What a memory
