42:04 the end credits are so amazing! I don’t know if it was intentional or not but Yuki is still alive because he’s sinking, the corpses are floating because of the gases that have built up in them (Ayame’s headband and Kinji’s robe aside) I just love how amazing the credits are.

Also I just noticed that Utsuro and Akane duo is similar to Junko and Mukuro. You have the despairing psycho one who is somehow superior (Utsuro and Junko) and then you have the other one who doesn't even want despair but follows the other one forever and very athletically skilled, then got betrayed at the end.
It's true they are like junko and mukuro in a way
Looking back on this, Utsuro had already decided to save them from the start. No matter what he did, he couldn't actually kill any of them. That's a big contradiction if he can influence probability, unless this outcome was the one he truly wanted. In the end, everything he did was because he was ultimately just another human. He's quite a tragic character.

I'm just going to say that I love Akane and how well written she is. She doesn't deserve Utsuro (I guess after he fell into despair bcz he was super harsh on her but maybe he was like that all along?)

Utsuro wonders that, if he didn't have his luck power, could he have lived a normal, happy life like Yuki in another world. He also mentions that if Akane has another life, that she shouldn't meet someone like him and live a normal, happy life.

wow, what a binge. i discovered this fangame because i craved for more danganronpa. definitely, this is the one of the best, if not the best one out there! got me so invested that i can't wait to binge the 2nd game! totally need to finish first until 6.5 tho of course

Ive been rewatching these videos to write better for the dra cast but i cant help but want to cry everytime i hear that ending song. Thank you so much Zeph for allowing people to experience this wonderful fangame. Its been in my heart for 2 years now and its been such an amazing feeling to love this game

Can't figure a non-despair being like how Utsuro was towards Akane, I think it would also make sense if he was docile before to explain why Akane has hopes in him and is still by his side

I am here commenting after, pretty much, marathoning the whole game in the span of one week.
I have to say...wow! This "fan"game has nothing to be jealous of from official entries of the series. The characters are wholesome and unique, the story is exciting and fits perfectly inside the Danganronpa 1-Despair Girls-2-3 universe, while also inducing the same feeling of despair and injustice for the deaths of characters to the viewer. This despair is further reinforced when it is revealed to the viewer that everything that happened in this game was truly in vain: every trace of anything happening is discarded; 1) the students have been presumed dead for months if not years and 2) Junko Enoshima and Mukuro Ikusaba have destroyed the evidence of this test (though this was probably done so that the existence of this game does not come into conflict with the official canon, sadly) 49:13 - 49:45.
But the real hero of this playlist is none other than the translator and creator of these videos, (currently known as) Zephirum, who not only took the time to translate the whole script single handedly, but also took the effort to play the game as well; an enormous amount of time! I truly thank you for allowing me to experience this amazing ride along with all the other viewers!
Now...what lies in the future?
- Maybe Utsuro inherited Akane Taira's last wish and used his Heavenly Luck talent to escape the facility so as to atone for both of their sins? Heck, maybe he somehow miraculously (I mean he does have the talent) saved her as well?
- Is the organization that Kinjo is planning on creating the "Future Foundation"? After all, he could become the leader, Mekaru with her resourcefullness could find possible members and Otori can fund the infrastructure and equipment needed?
However, I find myself doubting that he will be the founder of the "Future Organization". Well, one reason is that this might accidentally contradict the Danganronpa canon (though I think this game was released way before Danganronpa 3 --the anime, not V3-- was released), but the other, more important reason, is that Kinjo's eyes were filled with despair when presenting the idea to Mekaru and Otori (34:09). Him falling into despair is not improbable, since the person who stood most by him when losing his memories was revealed to be the mastermind who orchistrated the death of his best friend, Kisaragi, as well as the rest of his other 10 classmates. Moreover, the person who defined his sense of good and evil, his own father, had fallen into depravity so much so that he not only is responsible for anarchy in Japan, but also consumed the flesh of hist former best friend and colleague. Speaking of "sense of good and evil" we can also see that his values hadn't changed after all throughout his school life. We only assumed that he had evolved for the better, because we were shown images of him smiling and laughing, but there was no evidence that he had abandoned his belief in extreme justice. He had shown that remorse when he attempted suicide, but the return of his memories may have triggerd the reignition of his passion for extreme punishment and judgement.
There's the sequel to this game "Super Danganronpa Another 2", which I haven't watched and now I'm so glad I didn't back when it came to my attention that translation for that game existed before this one. I feel a bit like I'll betraying Zephirum for watching the translation of "Super Danganronpa Another 2" on another channel 😅

I hope that the English beta version of the game runs smoothly and we'll soon have the final product translated in English thanks to you and all the members responsible for the development of this game and its translation.

i agree completely, DRA1 was such an amazing experience
it had great trials throughout and it managed to tie everything together so well at the end (unlike its sequel DRA2 which fell apart in the later stages, surprisingly)

After premiere: Woah, I did not expect SDRA1 to end so well. I loved every second of this fangame and its so crazy to think that without Zephirums translations, we possibly wouldnt have had SDRA1 fully translated until a biggg while.

I had a question, in the previous episode (spoiler of previous episode from here) when you have to choose a door between the white one and the red one we only saw what happens when you pick the red one, im just wondering what happen when you pick the white one, also i saw people talking about "IF" in the comment, what is it ?
White door leads to bad ending, and If chapter is about a alternate ending that no ones dies and escape the island safely.

you can find the bad ending (aka the white door) on youtube, IF/EX is something similiar to DR1s IF mode where its a story about the killing game cast escaping the killing game without any casualties. (well, except the masterminds)

The protagonist decided to become 'Yuki maeda' instead of Utsuro. So, the fake personality overwrites the real one and Utsuro basically dies. It leads to bad ending.
