I'm surprised the Student had so many problems. He can craft some of the most bizzare strategies I've seen on youtube, but looks like he doesn't work well under time pressure. Neither would I, to be clear.
if you were to make a custom nation that makes the most money possible which national ideas would you choose? i can never work out which ones are better goods produced? caravan power? production efficiency? tax? trade steering? more merchants? global trade power. domestic trade power? merchant trade power? ship trade power? trade power abroad?
Goods produced, prudction efficiency, and trade power/more merchants is what i would personally say is probably the most important. Things like Tax of course helps too though if the goal is just as much money as possible, but the later in the game you go the worse tax scales, so really after 3-4 money based ideas id want some conquest ones like manpower, shock/siege bonuses, cav bonuses, etc. because more than needing money focused ideas youll also want to expand and win wars to become rich (though ig you could play as england or something and just colonize/trade peacefully because you already have a decent border, but still conquest is needed for the most money possible)
if you want the most money possible you go +2 goods produced, +20% (or whatever is the max) goods produced and as much trade steering as possible. If you really want to stretch it to the limit you should go one of the government types that allows the level 8 reform that allows trade protectorates, allowing you to get a near infinite amount of +x% goods produced modifier. Also, but this disregards the rules as far as i know, you should take as much trade efficiency as possible as well in your ideas. As for in-game, you will have to move your capital to the new world, ideally to the north america subcontinent (gives you more money). Then you do a quick WC, trade company every center of trade/estuary (not the normal provinces), make your trade protectorates, state every state that doesnt have a trade center or estuary and give it the +50% goods produced edict from the second government reform (might not be possible together with trade protectorates reform, not sure). Lastly, build a furnace on every coal province. (also you need 100 navy tradition for max trade steering) Everything together should lead to 500+% goods produced modifier together with +2 goods produced flat with a manufactory on every province and a few hundred percent trade steering. So even a province with a trade good worth 2 ducats is giving you a basic trade value of something like 30-50ish and then you multiply that by about 1.2 every time it goes through a trade node because of trade steering. With everything in the english channel you should instantly go bankrupt because you make so much money the game overflows, but that is achievable without the +2 goods produced and without trade protectorates. If you still have questions watch zlewikks aragon income run and thestudents (or playmaker, should be student tho) video on trade protectorates and off you go.
Don’t bother with tax or additional merchants. Tax scales badly late game and merchants are unnecessary as you’ll likely be taking trade ideas anyways and making trade companies gives you a merchant for that node so you’ll have enough. Best is good produced. Having +1 or better yet +2 makes for the best nations. Another avenue would be ideas that help colonisation as colonies make a lot of money late!
When can we get an EU4 tournament involving custom nations. For trade, it would be something like: Given 800 points, and 2 hours of gameplay, how much trade income can you make?
I must say I liked this challenge way more than the previous one, because of two reasons. 1. The goal itself was way more interesting, a bit less straightforward than simply 'conquer most provinces'. 2. I think it's more interesting if the players can choose their nation themselves, rather than being restricted to a specific one. Especially if they end up picking different nations. Makes for more a varied gameplay.
I say Hormuz beats both Bengal and Vijayanagar combined in this one particular chalenge (haevy trade oriented unique government, missions - claims all over the India and Malaya even China, trade company everything), unfortunately not available this time :( . Because challange is for nation in India, I would say Gujarat would eat both Bengal and Vij on breakfast (claims in Arabia, teleport there, trade comp everything, hyperpowerful lightships). Even if there is no time to get claims from missions for Arabia / Africa, Sindh and Baluchistan are near and they always ally someone in south Arabia or Yemen to move capital there. Trade companies and lightships solve everything here. I think with Zlewikk's level of skill, the sure result would be: Gujarat, Lahore, Doab, Corromandel, Hormuz, Aden, Ethiopia, Zanzibar and probably Basra.
I like money
Don't lick money, it's dirty.
Legendary
This is why some dudes in 1939 hide in poland 😁
Do you like money? I like money.

Hehe yea like i need 20 minutes to even unpause my games.
He couldnt make it to Mexico
Ahhh maybe i dont need additional 30 minutes of sleep
Yooo it’s literally gone midnight and I was thinking the exact same thing

+2 Goods produced is the best national idea in the game... So that one

@@blutwirbel3180 not even sure what trade protectorates are.. maybe i dont have the dlc???
Really hype PB is back, I do miss some of the post commentary stuff though
I miss it too, but it's really not a problem. You can just go to the livestream VOD and watch that specific part when they talk with the players.
Maybe next season hawk n laith will finally be able to change screens on their own 😂

Luigi Hawketto and Mario Belkalaini
Who in the world was it that took over Laith's facecam towards the end of the challenge?
zlewikk was the perfect person for this lol
What was the challenge? Doesn't show up in the vid
03:07 "Made in India":"Starting as a nation in India, lead the most trade nodes."
Yeah, they lost it somewhere in the montage, but it's in the timestamps
I feel like zlewikk wins this season redeeming himself from last season

only 13 views after 3 seconds? fell off
