Live listening is such a game changer for me! My mother has dementia and whispers mostly word salad and it’s super frustrating as I can’t understand her whispered needs due to my hearing impairment with background noises. Now I can hear her. A million thank you’s!!!

Adaptive transparency is honestly the selling point for me. I work armed security and one of my “what if” thoughts has always been hearing damage if god forbid I get in a gunfight at work. I can confirm in an outdoor range the adaptive transparency work super well. Granted YMMV as I only tested it outdoors with a Glock 17. So not the loudest of situations but definitely impressive.

Using only one airpod in for noise cancellation is great if you are using a landline in a loud space. I’ll often do this at work since there is so much background noise and it can make hearing the customer on the phone a challenge.

Here is one cool feature without much use but its cool nevertheless: if you personalize engravings on your pods case this personalization also appears on the animation when you pair the pods with your phone. Well the personalization actually helps to know your airpods from a glance. Me and my girlfriend had the 2nd generation and we mixed them until I put a sticker on mine. But an engraving looks so much better. Small feature but good to have. You didn’t mention that the case can also recognize if you put someone else’s airpod in your case, it will then alert you.

Mike, Great informative video, thank you. I noticed you mentioned "comply foam tips." I've used their tips on other makes of ear buds and yes they perform better than the original tips but the problem I had with comply is fitting the ear buds back in the case. In fact on one set I had to remove the comply tips before setting the buds back into the case. Can you comment on this? Regards, Wayne

    • @joshnlevinson
      @joshnlevinson Рік тому

The Comply tips specifically do fit in the case. With the large tips you have to push down on the bud a little to make sure it contacts the charging part at the bottom, but it works totally fine.

I really appreciate your in-depth knowledge regarding the AirPods Pro 2's! I’ve had mine for only a few months and after watching your video, I now realize that I’ve only been using about a 10th of their ability! ( Yes, Boomer Here) the mentioned foam ear tips are going to be a God send, I actually purchased an Apple Watch 8 at the same time, and I’m doing PT X2 a week and the gym X2 a week but because of the slickness of the silicone tips I’m constantly dealing with one or both of these falling out! I actually purchased the same brand of foam tips from Amazon when I paused you for a second. I’m still having trouble with using the pro 2's adjusting the volume on the pods themselves. But I’m sure feeling more confident about trying during the workouts than before. I just figured out how to get off the streamed music from my watch, so that’s a win! LOL keep up your good work! We boomers need you!

Just got AirPods Pro 2 - using on an iPhone and my android phone.
Wow, from the set up onwards, its brilliant. Audio quality is top notch, call quality and ANC. And very comfortable!
    Wireless charging is great.
I've had wireless ear buds and earphones from Sony, Bose, Anker, Lypertek, Edifier and a few others.
The AirPods Pro 2 are about as good as decent £150 wired IEMs with all the other benefits of wireless.
Your hints and tips were great. Though you said you can't EQ? There are lots of options in the music app under settings. The "Late Night" bumps up the volume and there are plenty of variations on U shaped etc.
And quite a few ios apps to play with as well:
    Equalizer+ HD music player
    Boom: Bass Booster & Equalizer
    Flacbox: FLAC Player Equalizer
    Equalizer Pro ‪+
    jetAudio - MP3 Music Player
Music Player X - Equalizer DJ
    Evermusic Pro
    Equalizer

Audio quality and noise cancellation is not top notch on the AirPods or the 2nd generation. I use everything 🍎 but there are better ones in the market and that to half the price or less.

@@shayer14 yes there are better sounding, obviously depends what source you're using. If you're using Spotify there's no where near the same quality possibilities as using Apple music on android (not surprising as Apple music is all lossless or hires lossless but Spotify is compressed).
I've used several wireless earbuds including from Anker, Edifier, lypertek, creative, Sony... I wouldn't use Edifier again (sounded good, but hardware was poor over time, app reliability bad and I wasn't keen on the spam it sent out in Chinese). Issues with others included issues with swapping devices and total lack of firmware updates, mediocre anc, back ground hiss rather than quiet, uncomfortable after a while, poor call quality ... I've tried the AirPods Pro 2 (including on android) and they have the best combination of audio quality, anc, pocketability, call quality and additional features. And they're the only ones I've tried that manage with the sharp noises on the London underground. And it's easy to return them.
Luckily there are plenty of options depending on what's important for you. For audio quality the B&O EX are probably the best though they're a lot more expensive. Sennheiser momentum TW 3 are also very good (and reduced from time to time). The Sony link bud S are around £120 and incredibly comfortable, great app but not as good on anc or sound quality as the AirPods Pro 2. The liberty 4 aren't on sale here (and I wasn't so keen on the other soundcore ones I tried).
If you're after just audio quality, a good set of wired IEMs is a better route. The Truth Ear Hexa for under £100, the Tangzu zetian wu Heyday for under £200, or the new sennheiser ie 200. And for £20 the 7hz Zero are incredible value for money for the audio quality (and responsiveness for gaming).
Problem these days is finding phones that support wireless. My LG v60 is on its last legs with its 3.5mm headphone socket and sd card - rarities in android (expect Sony and Asus). However, I have a lightning headphone cable that I can also use any mmcx compliant IEMs and I do use those sometimes as IPhones output truebit audio whereas most android phones downsample because of the android layer (though there are ways round that).

Undoubtedly the best AirPods Pro tips and tricks/features video out there. All the others I've watched have been very basic stuff, mostly stuff that's on by default and that everyone who has AirPods already knows. I watched one video where it was literally just a list of "and also there's this thing you _could_ do, but don't do it because the default is better" like literally it was just 10 or so things where he kept saying "you _COULD_ do this, but I would just leave it as is because it's already fine" like bruh why does your video exist?? lmao
But yeah your video is actually useful, and well done. I was skeptical at first because 25 things seemed like a lot, and of course I knew a fair few of them, but I definitely learned some useful stuff! So thank you! :)
