  • UPDATE: Washed these on gentle with cold water and not in a mesh bag, which goes against the care instructions of dry clean only, and they shrunk a good inch in length. I laid them flat to dry like all my other wool clothes. This was actually good for me because they were about an inch too long. The waist still fits, probably more nylon there. Just be advised if you decide to wash rather than dry clean them, or if they're too long when you buy them. I'll probably wash again, but in a bag next time. The only other garment I've had do this is wool watch caps.
These are the Big Bill (out of Canada) merino wool (80%) cargo pants to go along with the jacket. They have been on backorder, so just got them in recently. Very good quality construction, just like the jacket, true to size. Reasonably soft on the skin. Recommended.

Purchased the big bill camo hunting pants and matching jacket last year. Wore them on a hunting trip to north eastern Alberta in November, very cold and snow blizzard. Like -25c . A good base layer and I was warm and comfortable. Comparing the price of other wool clothing products out there big bill wool products are a steel. I'll definitely be buying other big bill wool clothing in the future.

Totally agree. You just can't beat these. I have the matching top and bottom Merino wool jacket and pants. Super comfy, quite, great around a camp fire, and you don't look too crazy in town.

@@ASAP_1234 I have purchased four hunting clothing products from their website with 0 problems, and fast delivery. I'm in North Vancouver. Just bought the wool vest and their 28oz wool bibs. Had to have the bids hemmed, but I figured I would have to. These clothing products are 100s of dollars less expensive then from any other wool clothing manufacturer, like Weather Wool, Filson and King of the Mountain, Johnston wool mills. Just to name a few. Remember there prices are in US funds. Not Gostwear, there Canadian. The Big Bills are also the heaviest"thickest " I've found to date too. Wool is definitely making a big comeback. Oh, I did purchase two other wool clothing products this year. I finally treated myself to a Filson limited edition mackinaw Cape coat. What a beautiful coat! I did pay a 1000k for it and my wife is freaking out that I plan on taking it to dear camp this Fall, but that's what I bought it for for. Another wool clothing product I bought is by ASBELL WOOL. Out of Michigan state. It's like an anorak high bred hoodie. It also comes with a extra zip up cape for when its really cold. Small independent company. Hand made to order. Excellent customer service, very reasonably priced wool clothing. There's also some UA-cam review videos on the pathfinder pullover in timber ghost pattern. (the one I bought).check them out. Hope some of my feedback helps.

Hey thanks for the reply. I agree with you a hundred percent about the price being way less than the other options out there, thats why i want to try some of the big bill products, like i said just wasnt sure about the gost wear site as it only comes up in the "ad" form and very little info on them. I thi k for now im just going to order the big bill 17 oz plaid wool jacket which is 65% wool blend and the 18oz merino wool cargo pants, mainly to get a feel for the size and also they are something i would get more use out of on a daily basis proven they are comfortable enough that is. Im a skinny guy with long arms so generally i have to buy large for my arm length when my body is actually a medium, so i will see how this jacket fits (only 109.99 at the moment) before making a decision on other jackets from them. And yeab id imagine that 1000k jacket feels amazing, was reviewing there site and videos if people with them and yeha they look second to none, my wife would kill me just for buying it yet alone going hunting in it, consider yourself lucky lol. Again thaks for the quick reply

I bought these in January and used them ice fishing/camping a handful of times and they are light and warm. I like all the pockets as well as the good price.

I'm in Flagstaff. In the forest its usually about 10F. In the evening. Seldom below 5F. I'm not sure to get the 18oz or heavier? Any recommendations.

Honestly not sure. I was wearing them last night in the mid-20s next to the fire and was totally fine. I had a thin base layer (250g) underneath. Heavier is going to be warmer of course, just not sure the cost. Not sure if you plan to wear them next to a fire, walking around doing work, or sitting in a blind hunting. I'd say for the more active stuff or with a fire they would be good with a decent base layer. Rod Dawe below said he wore them to -25C (-13F) with a good base layer and was good.

I think you might want them wide for cold weather - layering & over insulated boots.
