This was fantastic!! The history that Kenny Vance can reel off is so impressive and so important. Love the long list of incredible music he and Jay Black created that we can still enjoy. For those of us who grew up in the 50’s and 60’s, it really is the soundtrack of our lives and never, ever gets old. ❤
Great interview. Jay Black was incredible. Kenny Vance is addicted to that wonderful Doowop music, and truly understands the magic of all those phenomenal and forgotten groups from the 50’s that left such a fabulous legacy!!
Love these songs, miss Jay Black, love Kenny Vance, you all are correct, this music never gets old. As a young teen , my very first record I bought was played over and over was ‘She Cried’ I also was on the Alan Freed dance show a few times in NYC. We used to get a pass from school to be excused to go on the shows. Also went to a Rock & Roll show at the Paramount, great memories.
First time I saw Kenny was at the Forum in Metuchen., NJ. It was an old movie theater that an entrepreneur was attempting to make into a concert venue. He and the Planatones were great and established a Jersey following from that place. Good to see Kenny recovered. God bless and thanks for posting.
There were so many greats, back in the day, and you, Kenny, were one of the all time greats. Thank you for all the great memories. Mike ... you are the greatest of the greats.
Great interview. As a musician whose bands didn’t make the pro cut I always love hearing from those bands and artists who did, and love the stories of what they did that led to their success.
Years ago I had one of my songs published by Kenny. And I recall crowding into a small room and recording the song with Kenny and Marty. I still have that demo recording somewhere. Great memories !!
De Sud de la France, merci de nous rappeler la notoriété de ce chanteur; que j'écoute encore souvent avec ce fameux in the steel of the night ou Angel or devil. ect...... Merci
There is only one voice and that is Jay Black! Great stories from Kenny Vance. Thank you.
