Rossini was a brilliant composer. Not only his operas (I love all of them), other works are so very nice and lively too. Great pleasure. Thank you B.C. for your great choices.
I've said virtually the same all of my classical life 20-83...one can't listen to Rossini and not feel happy. (Said the same about Louis Armstrong (Satchmo), Ella Fitzgerald, Victor Borge, Red Skelton)
@@rsjmd It was a pleasure to read your reply. Were you a musician and if so what instrument did you play? I agree they did not call Louis Armstrong the Great Satchmo for no reason! He was the embodiment of simple joy and happiness though I don't imagine his life would have been easy in those days. HAve a great day!
@@weiliu3623 Thank you very much for telling me that Weiliu. I was listening to Mozart's violin sonatas with Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis as I wrapped all my Christmas presents. It was exquisite. I hope you have a great Christmas and a really really happy new year.
One of our proverbs reads ," When you decide to taste something for the first time, begin it with the best". I have never listened to the music of Rossini. This music is s fantastic but I have no idea whether it was the best from this maestro. Gracias.
Listen to some of his operas. They are fantastic. Fun and lovely music, fantastic arias and ouvertures. He composed many. The barber of Seville, William Tell, La Cenerentola, Semiramide, La gazza ladra, L'Italiana in Algeri, Le comte Ory and many others (36).
Rossini is most famous for his operas. Even the overtures to his operas are so famous and beautiful, there are albums which consist of only Rossini overtures. Perhaps, before you pick one opera to listen to, you might find one of those collections of overtures.
@@MsLeenite It"s a great idea to begin with his ouvertures. His ouvertures are a great way to listen some of Rossini's great music. William Tell and Gazza ladra are my favorites, all others are not bad too.
His my second favourite composer after the biggest love of my life - Tchaikovsky!!!!! With Rossini stands equally Leo Delibes! They always make me infinitely happy with each note and each melody that they create!!!!! 🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 💘😍🏩 🌼🌷🌹🌺🌻
Charming ..... But that's Rossini....I love he's petite mass..... Arrangement for piano and accordion.... Listen to the Pavarotti version .....just great fun and great music ❤
A superb job in transcribing this music - I haven't heard original the string quartet but doubt that I'll like it as much, so original does the music sound, as if written just for winds. A big thank you from Sakuntala Basu
I am always intrigued by these trees, that appear in every painting from this period. Does anyone know if they represent any actual tree or if they´re just "trees" in a more abstract sense?
Heart warming , and exquisitely played Rossini work.

Love this delightful music. But then it's impossible not to love Rossini's music.

Exquisite music, thank you!
There is a lovely ghost of Mozart in here and I am finding it a great privilege to hear other music of Rossini as well as his Operas.
He was nicknamed little German you know for his love of Mozart.

@sakuntalabasu1493 -- Brava! also to Accentura in India.....from Acapulco!
It was written for winds - c1804 so early and primitive winds, including the dreaded natural horn.
