Dear PN I own the mid- seventies Zenit E with its Helios lens, my first serious camera, which I could afford. Incredible! Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Such a beautiful lens, I keep meaning to pick one up, I think nowadays it is cheaper to buy a Zenit with one of the lenses attached than buying the lens outright, at least in the UK market
Very nice video and pictures! At first I thought you said 500 Grand (500.000 US $) - not so cheap, then I got it, Rand! They're very nice lenses, and however famous, still cheap, how long will it last? Zenit cameras are nice too, and I think it's cool to have, like you, a camera that nobody has like a special edition Zenit. I've got a 50th anniversary one from 1967, 50 years since the russian revolution that is, not in good condition, but still cool!
RUSSIANIFIED! 😂😂😂 This was great, mate 👍🏼 got to say as well, you’re beard seems to get more viking with every episode, extremely jealous 😂 Looking forward to the next episode
The more early 44-2's are supposed to have more swirl and also have more apperture blades the "better" But the 44-2 m 6 is really nice Not so much difference
@@smuludgn I've never shot one so I looked up a few reviews. This one is quite in-depth: phillipreeve.net/blog/pentacon-auto-50-mm-f-1-8-multi-coating/ Seems to be a good buy. Cheap, characterful and close-focusing. That review points out that it flares a lot, so perhaps a lens hood might be in order. Maybe I'll pick one up myself!

It really is! Definitely worth doing that - and you score a free body.
Great video. I'll have to pick one for these up when I get a chance
Thanks! You won't be disappointed.
Series going well - keep it up. Great mix of cameras and gear. All best. Glyn
Thank you so much! I'm trying to cover a nice mix of different topics. I'm glad you like the videos.
I have one 44-3. And I love it so much.

500 grand would definitely be a bit steep! But with the way prices for everything are rising these days, you never know...

What do you sue to edit🤗. Which camera took the picture in your thumbnail?
I use Da Vinci Resolve mainly. And I think that was my Pentax SV with the 55mm f1.8 Super Takumar lens and Kentmere 400 film. I think!
Subscribed! Thanks!
My pleasure!
@@positivelynegative7753 Whats your opinion about Pentacon 50mm 1.8?
