  • In Part 3, I explore the fundamental concept of chemical reactions. These are going on by the trillions in all the cells of your body--and in every other life form, and all over the place everywhere else!
What exactly are chemical reactions? What are some common examples? What are the two most fundamental ones for all life?
Find out in this jargon-free, crystal clear explanation.

I've been a science teacher and tutor for more than 30 years, and majored in biology at Harvard.
I'm making this video series for anyone who wants to feel like they have a solid, clear understanding of our current scientific view of the world--what is it made of and how does it function. They cover matter and energy (stuff and movement). What are things--whether rocks, trees, couches, or people--made of, how do they change, and move around?
I hope this feels satisfying by itself and also allows you to explore topics that interest you in more detail.
These videos are, I think, crystal clear and require absolutely no prior knowledge. I try to use regular, everyday language and not get bogged down in jargon.
Science classes so often throw a sh*t-storm of facts and details at us, without emphasizing enough WHY these things are important. This series emphasizes the big picture and ties things together, while throwing in some humor whenever I can.
