Yoke is Japanese and manufactures in Taiwan. Swedish Gunnebo is purchased by Crosby and Crosby manufactures in France, UK, USA and Canada. ☺ all of makes you use so do I and I love these products.

factor 55 is just too much in love with there products. i do like that fair-lead with the rope slots. but NO WAY am i going to pay that much for a chunk of cast anything.
thanks for helping us with true riggers knowledge. can not beat steel. now how about a video on cable ver rope.
i do not use my winch very often. it is a older 8259 or something like that. it sits up right. and was on my jeep long before all the low profile stuff was even out. it has been put to some heavy usage. but mostly sits, and eats bugs.
the wire rope on it is old so about time to replace. steel? syn rope?

One of these days I'd like to make a video on steel vs synthetic rope. There is a channel from Australia that I'll post a link in the video description to one of his videos where he breaks both steel and synthetic rope.
My opinion on steel vs synthetic tho is that 90% of the time I prefer synthetic and most of my winches have synthetic. But I do keep one warn 12,000lb winch with wire rope on it. I like having one winch with wire rope because it's more durable and resistant to damage if ya gotta drag the cable over rocks or something. The steel cable that comes on winches stock sucks compared to what you can get a rigging shop but it obviously does the job just fine.

Now that Factor 55 is owned by Warn I am sure they will outsource manufacturing to China.
