- After defeating Sovereign at the end of Mass Effect, a unique final cutscene will play out depending on Shepard's morality and the choice to either save or abandon the Council.
If Anderson went to Udina's office to override the Normandy's lockdown, Udina will bring up getting punched by the captain.
In the end, Shepard can either endorse their preferred candidate for the human Councillor's spot or decide to leave the decision up to politicians.

I've been curious for a long time what the epilogue would look like if a Paragon Shepard killed the council and vice-versa, so much so that I was planning on doing so on my next playthroughs. I'm still going to do so, I'm interested in the downstream effects as well.
It's interesting how Udina sounds so much more sinister at 6:13 when compared to 1:17. The music and ambiance are contributing, but on the Renegade side, Udina feels like he's taken off the mask and revealed his true colors. On the Paragon side, it's more like he's trying to find a justification for what he already believes and how to get a Paragon Shepard to believe it as well. Almost the same line, but different deliveries do a world of difference.
Mass Effect is 17 years old. Those scenarios have been uploaded to UA-cam for over a decade by now.
there's something powerful abt the 'good' versions of the ending playing the vigil theme during them, while the 'evil' play the sovereign theme
In the trilogy, whenever vigils theme plays it means you’ve made the right choice and I like to imagine it’s vigil seeing what we’re doing and being proud of us for making the most of the Prothean sacrifice

Hasn't properly ended until you see the Normandy fly off into the sunset while M4, Pt 2 plays.

5:16 it's the first ( and unique ?) time that i heard Anderson criticize Renegade Shepard.
Renegade + Council Dead (Human ending) > Paragon Council Dead (Alliance Ending) > Renegade + Council Alive (Spectre ending) > Paragon + Council Alive (Hero ending)

I think the juxtaposition endings have more significance than the expected endings. Saving the Council while Renegade has the Turian Councilor speak of how Humans flaws are what make us great. Abandoning the Council as a Paragon, by contrast, helps to make it look like a sacrifice (especially if you make Anderson the representative, which heavily pays off in _Mass Effect 2_ since) instead of an exploitation.
It also makes sense from a roleplay perspective. The mostly Paragon/Paragade Shepard can feel stressed over having the weight and feel like things suddenly need getting done. The mostly Renegade/Renegon Shepard can feel like either being ruthless or rude has increased some guilt (despite even having done all the major Paragon choices), causing him or her to save the Council despite hating them.
Excuse me, having Anderson as Humanity's Counselor pays off because he can help you reinstate your Spectre status.
Shepard's speech against Khalisah can hammer this home.

I need to do it all in russian because our translate Udian more like old party burocrat with some local specific in his language (he often said with that wierd case... or with that common case... or with so unexpected case.. or with that lucky case... etc). And again thank you so much!
Some people say the bit in ME 3 where udina betrays you feels far fetched or unbelievable. I say those people have clearly never seen the ME 1 renegade dead council ending udina xdddd. If anything it'd be unbelievable this kind of character didn't try something evil throughout the story
No, those people are right! Udina has been on your side from the beginning, but he's not a yes-man--the games first lines even belong to him, and they're lines vouching for you! He deals with the Council every moment of every day in contrast to us. I could go on and on but the point is, that Udina is a far more complex character than the fans and even the writers (who aren't Drew Karpyshyn at least) give him credit for!
At his worst, this fan description said it best: "Udina was a dick, but never a villain." At his best, Udina is one of Mass Effect's most underrated and tragic characters ever (definitely Top 10)! He deserved better than the direction he got at the end of it all!

@zurcus7224 I understand that, and I didn't like it either despite knowing that Udina has to go in whatever direction the political winds blow. I didn't like it either when Wrex killed Fist without my consent or approval (I am his commanding officer after all) or when he tried to kill me on Virmire...all without any punishment, mind you--and yet that hasn't stopped me and others from finding him one of Mass Effect's best characters.
I always chose Captain Anderson in both paths.
